Not really. If the weapon you really want takes - say 3 weeks - to release, then you might be inclined to not really play until you can get that weapon. You may grind others afterwards, but the entire point is that a player would be more inclined to participate in the other content if they were able to do so with a weapon they put time and effort into and now want to use.

Is that how you play the game or are you just saying other players only play for said weapon when it’s available?

That is a good point, not all players want all weapons. And by not releasing them all at the same time they may choose not to play weeks that have nothing for them to gain. I play with Shotguns, HC, autos and machine guns and rockets.. that is primarily what I use. IF something requires different I will ofcourse swap to it but.. generally I have no interest in another pulse, scout, etc. I have plenty and it is very unlikely any of these will somehow be so much better than something I have or something that will be so needed I will feel lost without it for the upcoming raid or endgame content. Why chase something you won't use, have no use for etc?
