Thoughts on Checkmate being the Norm?(PvP)
What are your thoughts on Checkmate being the Norm for PvP? I am not a fan of it being the norm as the game has just become a lot slower-paced. I respect the idea and like the idea of it, but I do not believe it should have been the only way to play the game for every mode, especially in 6v6. I wanted to keep the pre-Checkmate sandbox in one playlist at least so I can still enjoy what kept me in Destiny. I am going to keep playing PvP regardless, but will get bored faster because I think they took away some key factors that made their game special. I am not a competitive player and I am not bad at the game, I just do not like slower-paced games and I believe Checkmate should have just been for competitive things. What are your thoughts?

The only good thing to come out of the update was nerfing shotguns. Apart from that, there really isn't as much to do any more and hand canon / auto rifle + shotgun with slide exotic is still the stale old meta. Primary gun skill is rewarded now, which is a plus, but build variety has taken a nose dive.

2 Replies4th option. This isn't checkmate. It's missing the TTK changes and the cooldowns for what we currently have aren't even half as long as what Checkmate was. The only thing that is 1:1 from Checkmate is the special ammo transmat, which I have no problem with. I still get plenty of ammo throughout a match. I am enjoying what we currently have and I'm glad it's the norm. It's just not Checkmate.
