I like the idea of a light weapon. Maybe, since he does have a darkish past he wants to move on from, it could be a light based weapon but have a singular very powerful dark ability, but he never uses it. He refuses to tap into the dark no matter the strength. Even though the light is not as strong as the dark may seem, he has the mastery over the light to be an indispensable warrior. Maybe there’s a big fight that requires him to make the decision to use the darkness once to protect his allies. The use of darkness weighs on his mind, but he realizes he should not be ashamed of the darkness. Even though the light is and will be the focus of his life moving forward, the darkness is useful at times, and regardless, it’s what got him to the light

 • Ooh, the idea of him having the ability to utilize some sort of darkness attack is actually very fitting. The whole point is that he’s accepted the darkness of his past and moved on, and being able to utilize an attack representing his dark past could be symbolic of saying “Yes this is part of who I was, but I’m done trying to hide it away.”. Er, no clue what the darkness attack could be, though. :p

 • It could be a defense move. I think it would be interesting to have a shielding darkness of some sort. Here’s the scene in my head… They’re surrounded on all sides. Hordes of enemies everywhere. Eventually they’ll be overrun. He has to make a decision. The darkness could save them all, but how could he? He renounced that, he can’t go back. But…his friends…. He takes the plunge. The risk of darkness if worth the lives of his allies

 • Haha, well, that scene won’t happen for two reasons; 1. There are no giant armies of monsters. I’m not usually a fan of the whole “faceless goon” thing. Therehave been some nameless minions, but definitely no huge armies. 2. I’m actually thinking he’ll use the darkness freely. It’s symbolic of him accepting his past. A defensive move could be fun, but I’m struggling to think of the symbolism. Like, what does it mean using the darkness of his past to protect people?

 •
Like, what does it mean using the darkness of his past to protect people?
I would think that even though his past experiences were bad, he can use the knowledge gained from them to protect and care for those around him. He went through those things and now he guide others so they don’t have to

 • Perhaps, but his dark past is that he waspart of a crime syndicate. Not sure if it applies as strongly there. :p
