Mod options need to change, revert recent changes and add more mods.

We used to have elemental wells, warmind cells, and charged with light mods, and while some weren’t used much, they guaranteed diverse build crafting options. But following the witch queen launch, lightfall launch, and recent mod changes, things have gotten so much worse to the point where it feels terrible to build craft anymore. Witch queen brought a complete overhaul, and since they took a lot of the mods that made buildcrafting fun and diverse, we were only able to build into ability regeneration and damage(if you can call that building). Orb mods were added which made things more annoying but they weren’t that big of a problem compared to the rest. These mod changes destroyed build crafting as we knew it, but the subclass 3.0 changes would be added to make these somewhat bearable and more buildable where we didn’t rely on armor mods to carry the builds, but armor mods could still only build into ability energy. All of this continued to lightfall, which flopped heavily. I was hopeful for tangles to be developed into something like warmind cells since I was hoping mods would be dropped to build into them, which I knew was blind hope but I was still saddened by what happened. They changed the way armor worked where they got rid of armor elements and changed artifice armor to give stat bonuses, which overall were really good changes. But with nothing else added build crafting potential overall continued to dwindle up to the recent changes where they nerfed ability chunk mods and perks. Now I can tell you why nerfing the only buildcrafting component we have for armor is a bad thing. But in addition to the orb changes, that whole patch brought the viability of other builds so much that what we are left with in grandmaster or master raid content is hard meta, since bungie insists on raising enemy power while nerfing our own. So with armor mods nerfed to the point where ability builds are weaker and orb creation is in the ground, we are left with exotic armor pieces and weapons, and weapons to make up for this. The exotic armor changes have overall been good, but a few changes to armor pieces such as ballidorse wrathweavers, which took away their unique damage potential to bring it in line with other tier whatever surges hurts them and makes build crafting less diverse. Weapons hit like wet noodles because enemies keep getting buffed while we keep getting nerfed. So with everything we have in the ground, and everything getting worse by the year, I think we should look back on what made buildcrafting successful in the past. Bungie, Please add more mods and please revert ability mod nerfs and orb changes. If you insist on making content harder, please buff us in turn to make things more enjoyable in higher end content without bringing down the enjoyment of everyone else. I know this was a rant and will probably fall on deaf ears but I want people to realize we were robbed and to speak out about it. Because as it stands bungie can’t afford to ignore the community anymore, so if we try, we have the potential to actually change the game for the better, since bungie clearly has no idea what they’re doing.

  • I just want orb generation tied back to weapons so I can a) open up my helmet slot to more useful mods and b) not have to nearly always run a mono damage build just to get orbs going because it's cheaper to run harmonic orbs over literally every other orb mod. And I want the elemental drops to be easier to build into and obtain. Dang near impossible to build into them on certain classes/subclasses, like Void or Arc Hunter for example. They should also restore a bit of energy to all abilities like the old wells used to, but a bit more energy to the ability they already restore energy to (eg. Shards restore melee energy currently, they should restore all abilities with a bit more energy given to melee). And yes, I'd love a set of mods that allow our elemental pickups to do more things. Some fragments already do a job of this, but I think it could be expanded upon. Definitely need some for tangles beyond the Hunter's spinny tornadoes of death. Maybe throwing tangles create a suspended detonation on impact or a thrown tangle that doesn't strike an enemy explodes into a bunch of threadlings or something. Or throwing a tangle at an ally gives them woven mail if they aren't wielding strand, or if they are, they can catch the tangle, super charging in into a bigger tangle with far more potent effects.
