Destiny 2 is now online. You will be required to download a small update before you can play again.
If you're not seeing the update, try restarting your Xbox. I'm on Xbox and I'm playing Destiny 2 right now with the latest update installed (about 879MB). If you're still not picking up the update, then you may need to wait for your console to get it.

as Comedic Cyanide stated there was not an update when they posted, as the Mentors mentioned, correctly, the update will roll out after maintenance. Time stamps matter.

I read the time stamps for all who posted and they all posted [b]after[/b] the 9am PT (weekly reset) time which means the game was back online when they commented. Remember, the clocks went back an hour recently which means the reset time is now an hour earlier. ;-) Also, the update is now live on all platforms. I am playing right now with the update installed. My above comment is correct. Thanks for looking out for other users, Shank. -

You are quoting your responses based on the [i]estimated [/i]time of completion. and if you take note, there are several posts about the update not being out yet, so great if you are able to play, the exception is not the rule.

The update is now live and so is the game. I have update 7.2.5.3 downloaded (see above image) and I'm currently in The Tower. The maintenance is ongoing and is due to finish shortly. If you're not picking up the game update which went live at 9am PT then I recommend restarting your platform. If that still doesn't help, then you will need to wait for your platform to pick it up. It can take some time for consoles to pick up game updates. The @Bungiehelp Twitter account will send out a Tweet once the background maintenance has finished. Players can still play as normal during that time. You can also view the update status page at the below link.
