Maybe if this business actually learned to work with what worked for certain activities in this game instead of constantly changing things like they did with IB making matters worse, things might have been better off. I have never seen any business screw things up as bad as this one has. Case and point. It's been what, 9 years and they still are playing with SBMM/CBMM like a child playing with a light switch 🤦♂️

2 RepliesRemember what it was like at the beginning of D2?
-
1 ReplyIn d1 ib you could level up a little bit. And weapons and armor were worth playing for. And level advantages was a good system in d1. Because the raids were actually playing and fun. Not jump puzzle, symbols non sense
-
2 RepliesI mean, we did have Efrideet hosting the banner in d1. Always a plus. And the weapons and armor was great looking and usually amazing, like clever dragon for example.

2 RepliesEdited by Tru-Zrue: 10/14/2023 5:36:16 PMIn d1 even if I had everything I played IB. Loved it. Something is just off about it in d2 (no it isn’t the lack of power level advantages, hated that).
-
Because in D1 its was the casual way to get max light D1 locked max gear behind raids for PvE And back then PvP in general (in other games too) was way more chill and less sweaty
-
That's because in D1, you were at least guaranteed iron banner gear and weapons. In D2, it's bombarded with world drop loot first and maybe you have a chance of getting IB stuff

Edited by JazzyPaladin477: 10/15/2023 7:06:46 PMSo much this! I looked forward to d1 iron banner. To get people to play d2 iron banner they actually have to turn off regular quickplay so there is no alternative for the entire week!
-
It's true though. There was always a reason to grind IB in D1.
-
4 RepliesI loved IB on Destiny 1. I looked forward to and would grind all three characters for every event. Loved it. I think my favorite period was when Rise of Iron was first released. IB had such great weapons and armor to win. Man, I miss that. D2 Iron Banner? It's poor replacement.
Nostalgia
7 years later that conclusion holds water
-
1 Reply"Iron Banner in D1 was worth it!" Your nostalgia goggles might actually be thicker than mine. It's been 'The worst Iron Banner yet" since the second IB.
-
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. This saying applies to everything including videogames too. But this company didn’t get the memo about it. That’s what happens when you have people that aren’t real game developers pretend to be one and try to pretend they’re making a game. They end up with a broken and empty game. Bwahahahahahaha!!! Welcome to hollowness!

Edited by Justin68687112: 10/15/2023 2:32:24 AMYou realize everything in this game is a reskin of an existing legendary, right? There is a couple dozen types like example: 180 hand cannons all have the exact same impact. All Linear Fusion rifles have a maximum of 44 impact with a maximum of 533ms to charge, except 3 bursts like Stormchaser, which has a slightly higher damage amount but only due to the time it takes to shoot the bursts, at the end of the day, the damage per minute ill remain the exact same. Everything has a category for a reason. Notice how Bungie said "15% damage reduction for legendary Linear Fusion Rifles" and not specific amounts for Taipan vs Briar Contempt vs Reeds Regret, etc? Literally this entire game is the exact same weapons, only difference ever being the perks you can get on them. If you were to ignore the perks of Cataclysmic and Taipan, they literally is no difference between them. So of course Iron Banner weapons suck. Reskins do indeed suck. Exotics are the only one's that get to do whatever stats they want. When Clever Dragon came out in Destiny 1 it was a very unique archetype. It rose to the top meta at first, because of it. Destiny 2 however, all the Iron Banner weapons are ugly versions of weapons you actually already have in your vault. They need to AT LEAST have some more PVP related perks. No one uses Iron Banner weapons for a reason. (Unless they are a noob). Remember Pinnacle weapons? Those weapons that were unique like Mountaintop, Luna's Howl, Not Forgotten? Bungie literally introduced sunsetting cause they realized there is more work when you have individual weapons. And how did that idea go? It was either sunsetting or reskins, though other developers seem to handle many types of weapons, we chose reskins.

8 RepliesLet's see... D1: Clever Dragon The Distant Star Finnala's Peril Ironwreath D2: Steady Hand Occluded Finality Fool's Remedy Multimach All in all, not a lot of good PVP options either way. I think you're seeing things with rose-tinted glasses (or however the saying goes)

6 RepliesIt's not really nostalgia. IB was worthwhile in D1 because it was a way to get powerful drops. Alot of activities are losing relevance in D2 with the level caps staying stagnant.

Exactly
