Other than a few primary exotics, the kinetic slot is better off with a special weapon for that 10% buff.
Most exotics requires us to match our subclass to be effective to be begin with so having a mini tool with incandescent is way more effective than running around with a submission to be honest.
Since the 3.0 reworks kinetic primaries felt outdated.
So where are you guys with the kinetic slot

That’s why I don’t think the straight buff to kinetic weapon damage in PvE was a good idea. They should’ve gone with something else, maybe work on perks for kinetic weapons that would benefit subclasses more
-
Origin perks have better synergy than elements
-
Handcannons: Fatebringer, Seventh Seraph Officer Revolver, Spare Rations, Rose, and Austringer. SMG’s: Escape Velocity, Extraordinary Rendition, The Showrunner, and Submission. Scouts: Night Watch, Transfiguration, Hung Jury, Nameless Midnight, Randy’s Throwing Knife, and Tears of Contrition. Pulses: Chattering Bone, Smite of Merain, Sacred Provenance, Battle Scar, Autumn Wind, Legal Action II, and The Messenger. Autos: Braytech Werewolf, Seventh Seraph Carbine, Tigerspite, Horror Story, The Last Breath, Chroma Rush, Scathelocke, and Duty Bound. Sidearms: Buzzard, Empirical Evidence, and High Albedo. Bows: Biting Winds, Fel Taradiddle, and Whispering Slab. Those are all good legendary kinetic primary weapons. Sure yes if your wanting primary weapons to synergize with your subclass then elemental ones will be better. Yet saying there’s no reason to use kinetic primary weapons is kinda dumb. They still have there uses and some of them are still too choices to use.

Malfeasance is good, other than that there really isn’t any reason to use a kinetic primary exotic as you’re far better off using a special or heavy exotic
-
Wish Ender, Osteo Striga, Thorn, Quicksilver Storm, Agers Scepter, Arbalest, Izanagis Burden, Malfeasance and Witherhoard….. Very solid weapons
-
I use Transfiguration/kinetic tremors and Rufus' fury/target lock all the time. There aren't as many options, but the same applies to secondaries in the kinetic slot.

Edited by Xarcell: 9/8/2023 8:12:52 PMI used to feel the same, until I played alot with RTK with KT. Now I won't stop using it for fun. Although, I see what your saying though, personally I feel all legendary primaries aren't worth running, regardless of slot. Exotic primaries to match subclass is almost a must nowadays, especially since double specials got a ammo nerf. I don't think Bungie realized they killed legendary primaries in high end content with the huge damage buff to exotics against minors. Add to that the difficulty creep from high to low end content, legendary primaries aren't first choice. They can't be, not if your doing it right. I'm not saying their aren't any great legendaries out there. Their are plenty that out there that out perform exotics, until you start playing any content higher than heroic. The higher you go, the more unviable they become. Edit: anyone who doesn't think Wish-Ender is top notch, is a fool.

Personally, I would love to see all Kinetic damage weapons be turned into Stasis or Strand damage. They would then at least be more useful/synergetic with Darkness builds.
-
Lol fatebringer go pew
-
Tiger spite still my favorite to run
-
bungie should phase out kinetic weapons and update the kinetic slot and the energy slot to share the same inventory

Sometimes I like that kinetic weapons feel more elegant for the most part. But there's also just really cool more mechanically or engineering magic oriented things that could possibly be done with them. There's the possibility for them to shoot experimental munitions now I believe. But more stuff like that would be cool. Not having a corresponding subclass is kind of an issue.

I still use my Hung Jury adept and timelost Fatebringer as legendary primaries.
