I've been playing Destiny dating all the way back to it's initial release back in 2014. I am currently interested in getting back into the game after about two years of inactivity. With many game overhaul changes like dlc, consistent patches and updates I definitely have "fallen" behind everyone else playing the game. However, where my issue is with getting back into the game is that I have quests, triumphs, collections, etc completed or half completed. Where I would much rather instead want to begin the game fresh.
I play on PC and use Steam as my main launcher (screw Battle Net). Obviously I could just create another profile and start fresh that way, but I personally like having all my games in one place and on one profile. I have done plenty of research on the topic, read forums and even attempted to find some kind of support line directly to Bungie with no luck. I have attempted unlinking my bungie accounts attached to the steam account, and also getting rid of any and all cross-saves attached to the account. Still every time I load the account up my characters, vault loot, collections, etc are all still there.
My question is, is there any way to "delete my account" as a whole essentially. Or is the only way to create a brand new account and start fresh on a brand new profile.
If anyone knows anything about this topic or some kind of way for me to contact Bungie directly to potentially resolve my issue. Please let me know.
Thanks in advance!
Best of luck guardians.

I am not 100% on the full consequences of this, whether you'd be able to start again from fresh on the same account or if you'll be blocked from doing so. Bungie does not othewise offer a way to request your account be blanked out in the way you're asking. But how about this, don't rush into it without considering the mandatory 90-day cross-save cooldown though. 1 - Create an Epic Game Store account, link it to Steam. 2 - Set up Cross-Save between Steam and Epic, with Epic as the Active account. 3 - Everything you own on Steam now, will become dormant. All characters, triumphs, everything (you will also lose any season passes and dungeon keys as these are tied to the characters!) 4 - When you log in on Steam, you'll be playing on the blank Epic Games character profile. You just have to make sure you never cancel cross-save because then the characters become Epic only, and your old Steam profile will become active again on Steam. 5 - Any DLC expansions owned on Steam will be 100% playable on these Epic characters, but season passes, as mentioned above, are applied one-time to a set of characters and the Epic characters will not have them.
