I accidentally changed my name! Help!
So I was messing around with the settings and didn't know you couldn't just change your names anymore, since last time I tried all I had to do was change my steam name and it updated in game. is there any way that I can contact bungie to reverse the name change? I've had the same name for the entire time I've played destiny and even longer before, I don't want to lose it.

You only get one name change and you were warned about that before you changed your name. Bungie will not change your name by request. You are stuck with that name until Bungie gives us another name change. There are no plans for a second name change at the current time.
