Clovis bray and Awokens

I have heard the things Clovis Bray did during the golden age, how he experimented on humans and Exos with his inventions and test and such. They are horrifying to read that I will say. But as far as I know and there is no mention of any awokens being experimented on? Why? I’m sure they were around during that age. Was Clovis afraid of the awoken queen and what she would’ve done to him if she ever found out that he was experimenting on her people, hence why he never tested on them? Or is there somewhere in the lore that there is such thing as Clovis making a Awoken to an exo?

That is because the Awoken didn't exist until after the Collapse. The Marasenna and Awoken of the Reef lore books basically cover the history of the Awoken. They're definitely worth reading but here's the basic summary: The Awoken were once normal humans, about 900 crew and 40,000 passengers aboard the Exodus Green, who were leaving Sol to start a new space colony elsewhere. These humans included a major characters such as Mara, Uldren, Osana (their mother), Captain Alice Li, etc.... When the Collapse happened, Darkness and Light collided in space and created a paracausal singularity which pulled the Exodus Green into it. Mara was the first to physically incarnate within the singularity, and her chosen form defined what the Awoken could be. From there the Awoken would develop a utopian society on their new home-world within the singularity which they called the Distributary. Time within the Distributary passes faster than time outside it, so the few centuries that passed for Sol was the equivalent of several thousand years within Distributary. Mara spent her time studying the Distributary, space, building her space fleet, and playing politics in an effort to rally those who would return to Sol. Eventually Mara's efforts would succeed and she would lead tens of thousands of Awoken out of the Distributary and back to Sol. When they returned several centuries had passed since the Collapse, and they began to terraform and settle the Reef. Once the Awoken discovered what had become of Humanity, some Awoken wished to return to Earth and provide what assistance they could, while others wanted to remain hidden in the Reef for their own safety. This led to riot and ultimately Mara allowed those who wished to leave to for Earth to do so on the condition they were not to return. The Awoken returned to Earth became known as the Earthborn those who stayed in the Reef became known as the Reefborn. So yeah... the Awoken were never around to encounter or endure Clovis and his experiments. As far the Awoken were concerned prior to their return to Sol, Clovis Bray was basically a legend/myth or just a scary bedtime story for little children.

No... to your last question. Clovis is a businessman... how do you think he got those test subjects? Mara is not who you think she is. Do not trust the Queen of Lies, do not trust the Sovs. Let me expand a little bit... this was fodder 1.0 - this was Joylan...I think, my theory... he was one of the fruits of the research program.... Mara wanted super soldiers... she wanted a compartmentalized and expendable black ops force to subsidize and preserve her rule. She worked with Clovis to do so... she gave those Awoken to him, her own people... she knew what she was doing. Just like she knew Uldren was collaborating with Calus, torturing Eliksni... that created the Scorn. That was fodder 2.0. At her direction... btw. We were/are fodder 3.0. Speaking to Mara's motivations. Anywho... Joylan, is a super soldier black ops awoken assassin, and the fruits of that program... somewhere in between... Uldren planning his death and his revival, Joylan figured out what it took for him to have his abilities. Suffice to say... Joylan, who was Uldren's best friend, are no longer on good terms. I want Joylan to kill Uldren so bad... it shouldn't be Cayde. It should be Petra, Joylan... or Zavala 😉. Unfortunately, I think Uldren is going to kill Petra... that's when Joylan arrives. It's going to get pretty dark.

    • The Awoken were made during the Collapse, when an independent colony ship was escaping the system but was stopped by an unknown Dark something. The Traveler fired a beam of Light at it and the two powers resulted in a black hole type deal that sucked in Mara and the ship. Mara then used the power of owning that space, as the first one to enter gave her ownership, and used it to change the people into what would become Awoken.

      • There were no awoken during the golden age. They were created during the collapse.
