Additionally, why is Bungie lazy and not adding a filter to the name system until the name is reported)
Context matters. Some words themselves only break the rules when used in specific ways, so the word itself is not filtered. Since people can be creative and avoid the terms in the filters, sometimes a report is neededd.

Sure, sometimes context matters, but I had the clantag "-blam!-" for over 3 years before my name was reported and it was investigated. Now the name "Sherpas Hidden In Time" is banned so I'm using "Sherpas Hiding in Time" with the tag SiT

The fact that the clan tag I had was filtered here, but not in the game, goes to show how lazy they were to add it to the filter.

Clans live on Bungie.net, so they can be updated faster than in game at times. If you would like to see moderation speeds improved, you are welcome to make a post in feedback, that is where the powers that be look for your thoughts and opinions.

Cool, I think I'll try my luck there. Could you explain to me how clans live here? I would think both are here, considering the clans are made by the players and therefore have the same observation level.
-
The clan tag might not be what's triggering it. The capital letter for each word could be the cause.
-
Gosh, I wish you were right... just tried it and nope, they banned the name itself.
-
You might have to move a word around or change something fully.

Unfortunately, the only solution i found was changing the word Hidden to Hiding. So they didn't ban it for the acronym but rather because it was a blanket ban. I could change any word, and it would be fine, but retaining the entire original, unoffensive name is harmful. It was a nice name that rolled off the tongue and had a sense of reason to it.
