Remove commendations
They're just artificial game lengthener that waste time between matches and it's just more salt in the woound when you sweat out top of the leaderboard and then get commended by the players that say lost 15 motes or didn't capture points in iron banner. I mean if the system was even worth it and even thought out enough to have commendations like best dressed or something then sure whatever, but in this iteration it's just another awful system all around.

Destiny Devs, This isn’t a hard fix. The system has its merits and faults. If you’re going to use the system to rank up each season then penalties (just like quitting crucible matches early) need to be assessed. Change it to a system where you rank up based on giving out awards not receiving them. Or penalize those individuals who go back to orbit prior to issuing awards at the end of a match. It’s a simple fix. For some real data, I had a surgery this week so I played a lot of destiny today. Over probably 6-7 hours of play time I managed to collect between 100-125 awards. That’s utterly pointless if the system is going to gate us based on these awards. Every single level rank I’m constantly waiting on commendations to rank up. Fix the system or ditch it. There are countless seasonal updates, this is an easy one that can eliminate a lot of complaints from the player community.

If I'm doing dares or a nightfall on hero and I don't get pinnacle score I don't give them out...I wait 10 to 15 seconds to see if I get any and then I leave

4 RepliesThey’re a gimmick. They don’t actually reward good players. They allow for player perception to rule. And even then they’re just spammed anyways. I swear to god if another imbecile who goes 1 and 15 in my comp game gives me another commendation I’m gonna stop playing. Why should they even be able to do so?? How about this instead of commendations. Actual rewards for good players, titles, pinnacle weapons , etc. And also a play of the game feature would be nice. So people could see the type of low brain cheese garbage that gets rewarded in the game. I want to see a play of the game with epic music while staring at my screen mouth agape as a pve kid who can’t hit a drag uses no time to explain and a fusion on my entire team. Without ever having to move. I wanna see that.

This system was probably intended to FORCE, yes Force good players to sherpa new light players. Honestly, I don’t mind helping new light players as long as they have a mic for comms. How many times they nuke Vorgeth before cleansing the final token for Wishender lol. Hard not to laugh.

It's poorly thought out, it's poorly implemented, how do you have more then 2 teammates in an event and still only have just 2 commendations to pass out? How in IB were there many matches were we never had time to give commendations before taken to space - MANY for me! You do not have time to do commendations (and yes I go in to do them before the screen pops up on its own accord) and see the stats as well. And PLEASE do not make that wait time longer, I have to spend 2-3times the time now to take down a red bar then I did just a month ago and I now have many more red bars to deal with then before (I enjoy the later but not the former). How do you get your quota of giving if players leave before you can give them. [b]SERIOUSLY COMMENDATIONS SUCK EOD![/b] I dare you to find just one single player that uses Commendations as intended 100% of the time I dare you to find just one single player that uses Commendations as intended 90% of the time I dare you to find just one single player that uses Commendations as intended 80% of the time I dare you to find just one single player that uses Commendations as intended 70% of the time I dare you to find just one single player that uses Commendations as intended 60% of the time I dare you to find just one single player that uses Commendations as intended 50% of the time 40%, ehhhh maybe. <40% OK maybe some people are Me? Get weekly quota - BOOM DONE! Who gets them from me? Half the time to the first two I click on. Surely I can not look at stats and say hmmm he was great and deserves - opps in space already. 1 ReplyI swear ranks affect gameplay somehow, maybe not in a crazy overwhelming way, but maybe in how the game adjust difficulty. We had a rank 9 in one of our battleground runs and we were getting stumped, and that was the easy runs...once we got re-matched with 6 or 7s things went back to normal. I know people will argue this, but who knows what Dumbgie is doing in their code and maybe using ranks to adjust difficulty.

Why could I only give out 2 commendations during IB (when I have 5 teammates) but I have 5 commendations available in dungeons (with only 2 teammates)

After reading today's Patch Notes, yes, they should just be taken out of the game at this point. The requirements needed for Hawthorne's Weekly and progressing Guardian Ranks has been lowered so much to basically nothing.
