You should change the name of this game to Bullet Sponge World of Tanks
I've got some of the best weapons in this game in every category and yet with the difficulty bump, it feels like I'm just lobbing spit wads at tanks, even the adds most of the time. Maybe with time, power creep might change that but when you've effectively eliminated leveling up for your harder content, spit wads are about all I've got.
Wherever did you get the idea that would be fun?

2 RepliesThe devs and playtesters who came up with this must be great fans of certain streamers. Noone with a straight mind who plays this game like a NORMAL full time working human being would have said "wow this is fun, i love shooting 30 smg bullets into the head of a red bar dreg".

Yep. Much as though the "get gud" brigade won't admit it, leveling is about making a player more powerful. Leveling is now pointless. Even if you level, they are STILL bullet sponges. That's fine, if that's how you want to play, but many people don't want to play that way.

The red bars in Lightfall content have 30% more health than in a master raid, so the easist content in the game becomes the hardest content, with no change of difficulty at the top. I'm not having fun, and completely avoiding any lightfall related content. Its definately not fun to play the new content as a casual

2 RepliesI hate this difficulty change. I'm a middle aged dude with two kids, and a full time job. I don't have time for raids, and I can't stand pvp. I loved destiny because of the story and the fun casual play. Those that wanted difficult got it with new campaign mode. Bungie should probably think about who buys the silver in the game. It's people like me that want to enjoy the fashion game, and the story. I don't have time to play 2+ hours a day. If they don't tone this way down, I'm out. Also for the LOVE OF GOD FIX THE FPS issues! Don't punish me anymore than you already have with this difficulty bump for having a high end rig!

The so called "minority noops" got a little victory today. But the redbar sponges on neomuna are unchanged... And it feels awfull still. Nothing is back to complete normal. o:( I Dont swallow their carrot. Im continuing by boycott.

No, difficulty changes are mostly completely fine. There's probably some more tuning Bungie needs to do for certain activities, but overall. I'm definitely preferring it. Also, I don't get why people are saying it's a slog now. The game has been a slog basically its entire lifespan due to most content being so brain-dead easy that after a certain point, it all just turns to mush. How most stuff feels right now to me feels nearly perfect. Not too spongy, not too weak. Don't take an excessive amount of damage, but also can't take a metric tone either. Granted I never play any higher-difficulty activities beyond NF strikes. But playing through 2 Hero level NF. It feels pretty good to me. And close to what it was before the changes. I absolutely DO NOT want Bungie to revert all the changes they made. Large swaths of the game were simply too easy and dull.

5 RepliesOne of the complaints about D2 vanilla was that they took our powerful weapons away and gave us marshmallow shooters. I honestly thought that would be the end of bullet sponge mechanics when they moved away from that, but the interns and new devs assigned to this “side project”(the main talent is clearly assigned to the new IP) must’ve missed it when everyone hated bullet sponge enemies. Dumping a full msg into a red bar is not fun. It’s tedious, unrewarding and just not worth it. Do these people actually play the game or are they simply code monkeys looking at data?

I wouldn't have a problem with the damage the adds do or the difficulty if they buffed the weapon damage to match using a full clip to take one red bad is ridiculous.

4 RepliesIt was never about "fun". I remember how this business used to in the past stress the phrase "become legend and more powerful". Now it's all about hype, the shop, and advertising trinkets, when it should be about actually improving the game and the players experience.

One word stands out in my mind when I think of the present state of the game. Thresher! - those ships are too powerful and used too often.
