So, we are currently at the final boss fight on Legendary. We had to do SEVERAL deepdives on Builds just to get to the "second part" of the Health bar down. And then we discover, it isn't over. We died due to no revive tokens.
Bungie, I appreciate that you want to make the game harder. But please, having a checkpoint between the first boss phase and the second WOULD NOT HAVE HURT the experience at all...
Sitting there, beating a bossfight for now over 3h down, just to discover it has an enrage mode (and keeping all the tormentors from the first phase active) is just not fair for a Player.
I came here to play harder Destiny 2 on Destiny 1 like difficulty. Not DARK SOULS Destiny...

Kill the tormentors in Phase 1. Then Axe Calus is a cakewalk. Solo’d it on Legendary.

Edited by Olórin: 3/2/2023 12:50:11 AMI think the difficulty scales to level and/or fireteam capacity, so the more players participating the harder the enemy variants are. When I completed my Legendary solo run, I put on a sword with Relentless Strikes + Whirlwind Blade and focused on camping at one of the circular platforms. Cleared incoming adds and chipped at Calus until a Tormentor spawns, hit crit spots and kill the Tormentor once they rush at you (with sword) and repeat with the second Tormentor. Once Calus is "dead" i rushed at him with my Well of Radiance, ready for when he revived, went at him with Witherhoard, Starfire + Fusion grenades (original ikr /s) and chunked away at him with my Sword. Overall though i agree with you. It would've been better to leave the difficulty the same as how it was prior to Lightfall. If players wanted more of a challenge like this then add a Master difficulty challenge that grants Story Artifice armour one full campaign completions. It's like they knew the campaign fell short so they decided to nerf us completely and significantly buff PvE combat.
