The Traveler isn't leaving.
It's being Defiant.
It's sitting in plain view, protecting us.
Have a feeling that's what next season is, it being Defiant, it takes a massive hit at the end and either gets taken or something, hence why the next season after is Deep.
It'll drown in The Deep.
3rd season we cleanse it
4th it dies , but takes the Witness with it.
