Loose SBMM should be 50% brackets. 0-50, 25-75 and 50 -100. It would prefer the brackets, then connection and then branch out if no available players are in que. Then the top players would never play the bottom players. The brackets are wide enough for competitive play and improvement.
I see the need for SBMM, but strict SBMM or SBMM that is not loose enough does not allow for any wiggle room. You have to play at your absolute best all the time with strict SBMM. CBMM leads to the crucible population dying in the long run due to less skilled players quitting. Both absolutes are too harsh.
The brackets I propose is a compromise to allow higher skilled players to play players who are not inexperienced. It also allows those players who are experienced to play with players both at, above and below their skill level.
This can incentivize to improve and not completely discourage playing by creating a sweat fest every single game.
