Back after a year - nerf city

I'm not the best or most experienced destiny player, but just my two cents... So I've returned to destiny after about a year and a half. First off... Witch queen is amazing. I really enjoyed the story. Visuals are amazing. It was a lot of fun. That's the only positives I have. Weapon crafting doesn't worj. Leveling takes forever and resource costs to change weapons is insane. It should be fun and you should be able to switch things up without having to grind for the new resources. But I can live with that. Taking away weapon orb generation is stupid. Builds now have one less slot, even if you do it through wells, it limits builds. Well builds are the only viable builds. I feel like I have to run around collecting wells more than anything else. But I can live with that. What really sucks is the nerfs. The game isn't fun anymore. Slots are nerfed. Build types are nerfed. Using protective light, my favourite build (because I solo a lot) is useless now. I get that it was powerful. Just like I get that divinity is powerful. But why must the nerfs always kill something completely. I never grinded for divinity, thank god, because I would be livid for putting in all that effort. Here's an idea. If something is too powerful, nerf it slightly. Divinity could have been taken down to 20%. Then it'd still be viable. Protective light could have been nerfed slightly. But bungie insists on destroying the viability of something completely. Apparently dead man's tale is also...well, dead now. It's silly. Let people enjoy their weapons. The most fun I've had with destiny was before the wish ender nerf. I grinded solo for that weapon. It was difficult for me. But it felt rewarding every time I used it. I'm a warlock main and I don't enjoy any of the current meta builds. It's all based around a perfect patterns of ability use, there is no room for creative play and if you mess the sequence up, cooldown city. Lastly, the resilience update. For the love of god...I grinded hours upon hours to get the perfect recovery and discipline warlock build. Now my stats are completely messed up and I have to once again grind for high stat armour. To be honest, I just don't have the energy or motivation to grind for new armour using sub par armour that used to be great. Using bad weapons, because you need to level them to infinity and spend a ton of resources to make them viable. And using builds that aren't fun to play, because anything else gets you killed in seconds. Bungie takes two steps forward and three steps back. 30th anniversary was great. Witch queen was great. But that doesn't help much when the core game gets nerfed to the degree where you are forced to use one or two meta builds. Maybe bungie should play their own game and remember that the no.1 priority is to make the game fun - not to pander to streamers or make the perfectly balanced game. Destiny was never balanced. It's not meant to be balanced. That's what makes it fun.
