halo 3 population over 800,000 players online?
Guys.....what the hell just happened? Let me run through the history of gaming so far. Halo 3(2007) average number of players on line from 2007-2008 were about 800,000-900,000. November, 15, 2009(D-DAY for halo 3..lol] Almost every player i knew got Mdoern Warfare 2, and halo 3's population went down about 400,000. Sure it was a pretty cool population of players but most of it went on to another video game. As time went by people quit halo 3( the most revolutionary video game of the time for new xbox live player). People got bored and got off xbox or went on to modern warfare 2. Sure modern warfare was a desent game but then i heard people saying that halo is dead and it sucks. I was like what the hell? Then as time went by .......September, 14, 2010(Halo reach release date). Halo reach was amazing and still is but when i first got on the release date i was surprised to see only 800,000 people online go down and down. eventually only about 300,000 people were on mosrt of the time. I checked out halo 3 for a little yesterday and found something shoking. Even after modern warfare 2s release and halo reachs release.....There were over 800,000 players on Halo 3? After all that hatred and other games out there, people would rather get on halo 3. Can soemone tell me if theres something special there or something. Not saying its not a good game, it was the best of my time....but why get on now?

If it makes you feel better, there are usually at least 100k more people playing MW2 than Reach.

A simple way to see exactly how many people are online is to grab a trusty TI-83 and count up how many people are in each playlist and total them together. If you care that much about it that is. If you do, that's purdy durn sad.

Any xbox game rarely has a count of players online as huge as 800,000. Usually games will only achieve that many players in the first week or two of the launch. Of course Halo 3 doesn't have 800,000 people playing it. Even if [u]everyone[/u] did "quit reach and go back 2 halo3 cuz it r wai bettar" I would be very surprised if the number went above 550,000.

Counters glitched on the run up to Reach everyday it would say there where 237,896 players online.That number is stuck in my head for the rest of my life.

There is no way in he'll there are 800k online for any game on a tue. afternoon save a major release. You can claim Bungie messed up the counter on purpose if you want, but there is no way it's accurate. [Edited on 10.26.2010 8:56 AM PDT]

And Halo 3 was a huge pile of crap compared to Reach(compared to any halo actually), that's why I'm inclined not to believe it. Also it has nothing to do with being a "kiss ass" to Bungie seeing as how I haven't played a halo seriously since CE on PC. Reach is the first Halo to be fun in some time.
