Game Stutters & Freezes
Ever since the release of this season, the game has been running very poorly. Almost to an extent of not even being playable at times. Casting supers, charged melees, explosives and other miscellaneous things seem to cause severe stutters in the game, even at points of freezing for a second or two. I don't want to sound like I'm complaining, it just seems like every update we get the games optimization goes down but this season it's almost unbearable at times. I'm a PvP main, so the games performance is pretty important to me.
Are the developers aware of these issues?
Is there a timeline on some sort of fix?
My hardware:
Intel i7 9700k
nVidia GeForce 2080
16GB 3600Mhz
2TB NVMe
I don't have these issues with other games, just seems to be Destiny.

same here,can you check the performance in the moon (altar of sorrow) i got a 6700 xt for this game and cant go up 60 in any specs even try to go down to 720 low graphics and still running in 40-50 fps is so weird at 4k max is running in 40-50 fps same as 720 low, is like capped or something but only in the moon altar of sorrow and the tower main zone every other zone in 1080p got 140-200 fps r5 3600 rx 6700 xt 16 ram 500 Gb M.2

Same here but with more high end GPU. Seems like bungie can't fix the performance issues, or don't care. No idea. No information from them atleast.

1 ReplyThis. I have far worse specs, but the game runs 75 fps with no problems. But after 30 mins or so, every explosion and like cause massive stutters, which can last for 2-3 seconds. FPS is still at 75 outside of stutters btw. Started right at the beginning of season and nothing changed on my end, not in single other game.

1 ReplyI have similar issues and i only ever see this in PVP but in my case the Gun does not fire sometimes when i click the left button Again its only in Destiny and i have tried to recreate the issue in a few other games but they are fine The reason i believe is the Awful way Bungie use P2P for PVP and not have dedicated servers when it happens i always check the players and when you mix players from Russia, china , India and EU its not going to go well . The only things they can do is either have dedicated servers (no way that will happen now) or start to separate the players by Latency and location so that all in that match have similar ping times Lag has always been and will always be the biggest cause of game issues in PVP and this peer to peer system is the worst way of doing it. Bungie removed the Ping display for a reason so that we cant see what the other players have but if it was there you would see a massive difference in values . So Bungie now have said they are going to put more effort into improving PVP and before they do anything else this should be the most important thing to fix as it would be much better for all playing it

i cant even play PVP or gambit at this point for when i try entering it my game stutters and just freezes
