In-game chat not working
Just hopped on to test the recently enabled in-game chat for crossplay with a couple of clanmates and we weren't able to get it to work. 2 of us were on PS, 1 on PC. I could hear each of the others (1 PC, 1 PS), but they could not hear me. Neither of them could hear each other either. The game registered voice activity (mic icon lit up next to each of our names while speaking), but no audio passed back to the other players.

1 ReplyI think i figured it out at least for my case. Are any of the PC users trying to use a PS4 or PS5 controller to play? If so disconnect it and test the voice chat. In my case i had a PS4 controller connected and once i unplugged it audio came through. Now i am able to hear both PC and Console players. I am using Astro A50s.

1 ReplyEdited by LUMIE: 9/3/2021 10:37:46 AMI can confirm it does seem to be a now hidden in game setting. Had this exact same issue on ps5. Went into in-game sound settings. Held square to reset to defaults and boom works! Bizarre! From what I can tell it's defaulted back to a previous time when it may have been muted but that setting doesn't exist anymore. Anyway if u have this issue reset Ur sound default settings and see if it helps .

3 RepliesThird party headsets like turtle beach and astros and ect. cant be used in voice chat and can confirm this cause i have a astro a40 headset and the second i plugged in to my corsair audio it worked just fine from pc to all consoles. Looks like a bug preventing third party heads from hearing.

1 ReplyI guess it is a problem with cross save? Some are reporting, if they disabled push to talk on PC or enabled ingame chat, it worked on console as well. For me, I played on stadia before but have no possibility to check there again, I guess I also had something disabled. Now I am stuck with not being able to chat with anybody because of this. A simple switch or menu on console could solve this I guess.

3 RepliesUnsure if this will help folks, but I think a lot of people (myself included) are dealing with this problem due to using third party headsets (TB / Astro / Etc), the audio troubleshooting page shared below has a tucked in little notice in the known bugs section: [quote]Xbox players will need to use an Xbox Certified headset in order to successfully connect and participate in voice chat.[/quote] So, currently it looks as if for a lot of us, it's just a waiting game.

4 RepliesI have a simillar issue, i play on ps5 using the headset controller connection and indont even have the ingame chat icon, i cant hear anyone and cant speak… only in destiny my ingame chat doesnt work! Its ridiculous

6 RepliesI'm on PS5 and I don't even have the option to be in game voice chat anymore. It was fine before the patch.

PS5 here. No audio for me or my PS5 buddy. Switching to game chat isn't an option while in a party, leaving the party leaves us with no chat at all.

3 RepliesEdited by TahoeAnime: 9/3/2021 4:05:13 AMI was able to get mine working on xbox series x by going to the sound settings in game and then using the "reset to default" button in the bottom right to get it to at the very least have the mic icon show up and register my voice being heard. [b]update:[/b] after the "reset to default" voice chat works between xbox and playstation accounts.

1 ReplyI was the PC player in this fireteam. Hephaestus even switched to PC but that didn't change the situation. I had in-game audio, just not chat audio from either of the others.

i play on Xbox and have never been able to hear other people although my friend also plays Xbox and can hear people so im not sure how it works.

Had a similar issue. Game audio was coming through my headset then comms came through my speaker. When I unplugged my speakers and switched it to headset I lost all comms.

I’m on Xbox, I can talk in parties but when I try game chat no one can hear me and I can’t hear anyone else
