After 3 matches of Iron Banner I can say
Im breaking my own rule here, but after juat 3 matches of Iron Banner, I can say:
The Destiny pvp experiance has reached an all time low.

There must a super low player count right now. I’ll never understand this stupid lock down mechanic of the zones. It just forces too many mercies.

10 RepliesI've had really bad network issues on the Series X since the new season started. I'm not sure if it's cross play but normal crucible is as laggy as Iron Banner usually is. I have had many issues with bullets not registering, getting shot around corners, being melted instantly by every weapon, and extreme rapid fire from other players. Something seems really wrong. I tried to turn off cross play but others have to opt out for you to match with them.

Why does it seem like I take every ounce of damage all at once? I can put multiple rounds into someone but me nah. Apparently my guy can only handle a bullet

11 RepliesI've been doing some IB and as those lovable scamps at Reddit would say " I'M HAVING AN ABSOLUTE BLAST!" My favorite part of IB has seeing all the powerful gear on full display - especially the exotics. I've seen exotics that let titans slide backwards, exotics that let bullets go through you without causing damage, and even an exotic that will let you take several melees to the face without taking any damage yourself! I'm not sure which exotics grant these powerful and fun abilities but I can't wait to start grinding for my own and then taking them to IB and giving them a spin my self! Bungie has once again outdone themselves and is truly providing epic gamer moments!

I‘m able to play stormcaller, nova warp, nova bomb, scout rifle, pulse rifle, auto rifle, fusion rifle, sniper and even sidearms. I saw so many worse metas than I see today.

7 RepliesI dunno, I’m enjoying it. Admittedly, I haven’t played much. And I crutch a bow. I think that if I was as reliant on hand cannon, shotgun, TTDB, stasis, or any other recently nerfed option I’d be a bit more salty, but all those recent nerfs seemed to improve my experience. Eventually it will change again, some will love it, some will hate it.

2 RepliesFeels the same to me, I’m still going positive K.D. Im capturing flags and using fun builds. What I find annoying is the potatoes trying to 1v6, refusing to take the flags or ignoring it, the lag has always been an issue and the extremely low tier player in the corner going AFK or trying to spam stasis shatter for kills. Its not even the game giving me a bad experience at this point, its the players.

1 ReplyAfter 10 matches of IB I feel that this game’s PVP matchmaking (in the freelance playlist) leaves a lot to be desired. Sweat lords that stomp in one game followed by laggy low light players that don’t play the objective make for a quality gaming experience. Give me them pinnacles and then I’m done.

Playing with cross play enabled as a console player is terrible. And if I turn it off matchmaking takes so dam long and then I get mercy ruled

I feel like certain mods and perk should be Raid and Trials exclusive. Not weapons. Especially not exotics

Between getting frequently shredded by a weapon I don’t have and can’t improve my chances of getting and the game crashing after every match, it’s definitely not a good experience right now.

53 RepliesVex Mythoclast is ruining it IMO. Your dead at most ranges in a one vs one, so at a disadvantage soon as you’re up against it and don’t have it. Don’t nerf, just ban from PvP hehe.

3 RepliesToo many still play it as clash unfortunately...... they need to change it, remove the hunt mechanic and have each capped zone add a damage buff to the team. Have 1 zone give a +5%, 2 zones + 15%, 3 zones + 30%, this would give much higher incentive to capture the zones imo.

Firstly, (yes crucibabies will come crying at me here) the PvP experience needs to go back to skill based matchmaking. Maybe with some sort of balance between that and CBMM but its infuriating to get put against all unbrokens and flawless players as a lower-middle skilled player. I consider myself slightly above average but compared to them I dont have a chance in hell. Secondly, and honestly this is a big one: the maps are too small. When CoD maps seem big in comparison, theres a problem, especially with how fast we scoot around in destiny. Take exodus blue for example. A titan can use a striker attack on the A side of the map and kill 4 players, run across the map to C side and kill those 4 players again by the time they're getting themselves situated after their respawn. That's an issue. What's worse is that often times we spawn in the same place we just got supered and die immediately. The other day I was kill within 3 seconds of spawning, 7 times in a row. You can imagine my frustration there. 3rd, destiny gunplay in crucible is absolutely trash in PvP, which is ironic because of how good it feels in PvE. But theres nothing worse than putting several shots into a players head, cliffhanging his health and then he gets that perfect slide shotgun onto your chest, and YOU lose the fight. That makes me so frustrated because OHK weapons dominate over everything else. Dont get me wrong, I run chaperone a lot of the time and pull off some disgusting kills, but i had to get good with it in order to compete. I dont like what it made me into.

I got into a losing game and ran into a guy who used Silence and Squall twice like it was Mayhem.

All i can say is that Ion Barrier is much more fun! Especially with lightsabers!
