I very much don't care for PvP, and I very much don't want to have BattlEye installed on my machine. I was mostly playing Destiny as a single-player game, but now I can't do that either (and I have pre-purchased Beyond Light along with 4 seasons).
Extremely intrusive anti-cheat for an almost single-player game with no in-game economy feels like an unreasonable burden. Is it at all possible to require BattlEye only for competitive game modes?
To clarify, my main concern with BattlEye is that it installs a kernel module, that malware can use as yet another vehicle for privilege escalation. Since UAC prompt is not required for loading the module, such malware can inject the code into kernel completely transparently.

Edited by TheArtist: 8/30/2021 4:31:26 PMIt’s a single game. Plus people have threatened to use cheats to disrupt the pve side of the game (raid world first) as well. This is the price we all pay because some refuse to play by the rules.

Looks like we found another cheater

1 ReplyPlaying on Stadia won't require installation of BattlEye, and Cross Save and Stadia are both free.

2 RepliesBungie is most likely trying to stop cheating across the entire game, so it will most likely always be required.
