1 ReplyWhat compels you to want a dangerous and thankless occupation, if you don’t mind me asking? My job deals with reports and databases, I’ll save you the boring details. It’s close enough to what I want to do, although the compensation isn’t much atm.

1 ReplyHell if I know I’ll probably end up being some sort of disability activist or religious scholar, they are the only things that call to me really.

5 RepliesEdited by Twin Inferno: 7/13/2021 6:12:16 PMI think I’m going to join the military for a start of my career but working as cop had always come in mind. I’ve always wanted to work towards being a homicide detective which requires collage and years of experience, let alone a number of qualifications, I mean I know the homicide detective to solved the this case with a women who was found in her apartment that turned out to be suicide and the recent case where they found legs in a dumpster and that case started years and years ago and it was only recently cracked and it was her husband, so that had documentaries on these cases and the guy who solved them is a great man and has a nice dog. So my thoughts, join military get qualified, take my GI bill after 4 years in service, go to collage and work my ass off. But for some reason everyone I know tells me to become a Lawyer.

10 RepliesWould love to do something with history. I've considered being a history professor, but I've been told by several history professors how challenging it is to land a job as one (too many qualified people, not enough positions). Currently, I'm a software tester, which while it definitely wasn't something I thought I'd do, it has been very engaging and fun.

Anything that makes me decent money. That's about all you'd really ask for

Been asked that for more than 30 years and I still don’t know and to top off that cocktail I got no drive or ambition I just go with the flow for better or worse

I wanted to be an architect. Too much school burned me out, so I quit and I found a job in the housing arena designing and selling cabinets for a custom manufacturer. Though today, if I could I'd still be a race car driver!!! But age would prohibit that being a profession anymore. Second place idea would be to own a custom car fabrication and repair shop.

2 RepliesI wanted to be an FBI field agent for a very long time. I’d also be happy working as just a regular cop someplace. I was in the police academy, but my mother had major heart problems and needed someone to help her. I had to quit for her sake.
