Crossgen features should be a toggle option
C'mon, I don't want to play against people on other generation, or even platform unless I decided to. It shouldn't be default.
On PS5 you get 120FPS against 30FPS on PS4. How this is even fair? If I decided to peek, a PS5 player would see me way before I see him.
People can say git gud, PC players feels the same, but no. When I bought this game, it was meant to be played against the same hardware. And if a crossgen feature would become a thing, it should be an OPTION, not the default.

I play on pc with a controller and I do just fine, its really not that big a deal. Yes there are times where you face the occasional sweat that lands all shots and shoots at you before you even come around a corner (possibly a hacker) but its not so bad. Just as there are good players on pc, there are a ton of bad ones too. I stay out of comp and trials on pc, the amount of cheaters in those modes is ginormous! You are less likely to encounter a cheater on regular crucible.

1 ReplyI had this mindset as well, until I tried out a PS5. I realized that the problem is not the game. The old gen consoles are more than 7 years old, which is huge for technology. 7 years is the difference between iPhone 5 and iPhone 11, and the increase of capabilities is huge. Sadly, there’s a reason why people are calling the PS5 and XboxX current gen consoles, and the PS4 and Xbox one old gen. The new consoles are going to surpass the old as soon as they actually come into stock.

You'll see each other at the exact same time, the difference is it may be easier to spot you sooner since movement will appear smoother. What you're thinking of is [i]latency[/i] in which this is completely true... In a dedicated server environment using a good lag compensation system, the player with lower ping will see you first.

20 RepliesI understand where you're coming from but you also need to understand that it really destroys matchmaking because I sincerely doubt even 40k to 50k d2 players have a new gen console. If im on my x I'd probably be sitting in orbit for 8-11 mins for a usually 4 min match of ib most likely. The game attempts to prioritize former gen queues but thanks to the low new gen players in comparison it also needs to make up for it. Already on my next gen it's taking 1-2 mins sometimes to find matches because the game first attempts to locate series x users or next gen lobbies then after that will go into former gen. Again I understand your point, but you also need to think about the other players as well. If things were better we'd be having next gen only servers but there's been hard times for people not being able to get next gen. When crossplay comes out maybe something will happen.

2 RepliesMy pc runs destiny on 30 fps so I demand everyone else I play with to be limited to 30 fps as well to make it fair to me. (I don't actually play on 30, thank god, and it is satire)

I've heard that you can't match new-gen if you're on an all old-gen team but I've matched new-gen while playing solo in qp (I know they're new-gen because I asked them) so I guess the only reasonable solution is to sell my soul so I can buy a new-gen console and fight them on equal footing.
