Gen 8 (sword/shield) didn't fit in the poll sorry.
Emerald is gen 3 not two, I put it in the wrong poll

Gen 2. Unfortunately, the battery in my Gold Version cartridge died before I could backup the .sav file. I was planning to back it up onto my PC, then restore it onto the 3DS virtual console release. It would have been really neat to transfer my Pokémon from the original cartridge releases up to the current gen. Oh well.

You spelled sapphire wrong (does not matter) speaking of sapphires there technically the same gem as a ruby
-
For nostalgia? Gen 2. For the best story? Gen 5. For the most memorable and best designed characters? Gen 7.
-
Black/White, this generation was the one I grew up with. Can’t remember the name of the big dragon on the black side
-
Gen 3. The remasters for the 3DS are also really good, better than the normal versions imo

I honestly don't have a preference. I've played them all, but the only games in the franchise that I've finished are Red, Yellow, Gold, and Sword. Its not that I dislike the other generations, I'm just not a handheld gaming guy - I have limited spare time, and if im gaming, I'd rather do it on a big screen, with my head looking forward ( instead of bent downward ), and using a proper controller ( all of the handheld devices of the last 16 years have had horrendous ergonomics, and fragile buttons ). I like most, if not all of the quality of life updates that the latter games have.

Gen 4 was my first but gen 5 is my fav. I liked the look and feel of the Unova region the best of any gen and the legendaries were probably the coolest
-
7, but mainly because the only one's i've played are 1 and 7. Z moves are a little overpowered.
-
5. Best music, sprites and while the same cookie cutter story it felt fresh.

Edited by kerrick2: 5/18/2021 1:54:21 PMHonestly only really know the first gen lost interest after that Edit: I just wish there was a Pokémon universe game that was set up kind of like elder scrolls online and it allowed you to get every Pokémon there is in every region start with the 1st gen and ever dlc would be the next gen and unlock new regions
-
Diamond and Pearl is where I really started playing
-
Piplup
-
4, 7, 6, 3, 5, 2, 1, haven't played 8. Gen 4 was so perfect. The Sinnoh region was great, the pokemon were great, the legendaries and events omg don't even get me started. It was all perfect. Until you met Cynthia. Then you were very not perfect
-
Diamond and pearl, cause the soundtrack is yes
-
3. Best new Pokémon designs, Pokémon Contests (in the show) were amazing, Mawile is still my favorite Pokémon, and May is my second favorite character. I think 8 gets second. It’s Pokémon designs rival 3, Bea is my favorite character, and it made a lot of really great Fairy types (which is my favorite type). From there it probably goes something like; 7>2>6>1>4>5.
-
Pretty sure emerald is gem 3
-
Edited by Emurinus: 5/17/2021 2:38:00 AMGen III was where I started so it has the most nostalgia for me, but Gen IV also had some of my favorite designs, battles, and lore. Conversely, Gen VI is probably my least favorite. If it weren't for the legendaries and mega evolution, the whole gen would honestly be forgettable. Also, Emerald was Gen III, not Gen II. Edit: Speaking of forgettable Gen VI, I forgot they introduced Fairy types so they at least had something going for them.

Would ORAS count as their respective gen they’re based off, or the gen they came out during?
-
Where’s Go bro? By far the best Pokémon game.
-
Gen 1 and 2 are my favorites, I couldn't get into any of the other games as much as I did pokemon silver and firered. Firered technically came out in gen 3 but its a remaster of the original game so I count it as gen 1.
