Introduce a mod kiosk.

As the title says. We need a Kiosk dedicated to mods that are currently sold by Banshee-44. Bungie you've stated multiple times that you want newer players to more quickly engage in end-game activities. Having these mods will allow newer players to better survive end-game content and would allow all players to create builds and play styles suiting their desired way to play. The current method of getting these mods is way to limited. Having to hope for Banshee-44 to sell the right mod you don't have yet is extremely annoying. There's no reason for this system to be so limited. And therefore i would implement two changes. 1. introduce a mod kiosk where players can buy every mod currently sold by Banshee-44 against a set amount of mod components. 2. Give Banshee a daily or weekly bounty to earn mod components. I think such a change would benefit a lot of players and it surely would be appreciated.

  • I don't support this exact idea but anything to improve missing mod distribution, as it is currently bogs down the experience significantly.

  • No. That would be a huge middle finger to people who grinded for the mods. New players already get it easiy and get hundereds of things handed to them.

    • Forget the kiosk, make them world drops. If mods aren't sunsetted then let the players find them. Remember that It's a looter shooter. People say they want incentives? Start distributing them across all activities and you'll see player engagement increase. Think more about how the game works versus some sort of misplaced sympathy for new players.

      • No. You don’t get rewarded for not playing the game. You already have a way of getting them. The waiting is to supplement the fact that you weren’t there when they came out. It’s FOMO for a reason guy.

        • This idea is great. Otherwise though, why not just give all players all mods?
The current method of getting these mods is way to limited.
It's actually working as intended. The game is way over-controlled and it has gotten worse over time since forsaken with this compnay putting way too many limits in this game. There really isn't that "player's choice", and it's a good part of the reason I don't play often anymore. I get all gaming companies have that control, but Bungie has stepped over that line because of the lack of content that keeps players engaged, it's just mindless content with their RNG that has crapy drop rates. Banshee is just another form of control and if we look back Banshee used to have all kinds of mods, even mods to change burn that you will never see again.

        • They can even have Xur do it with an inventory that changes each weekend. such as charge with light mods or warmind cell mods. There system currently in place doesn't work. Honestly the forums have plenty of ideas and almost all of them are better than what is in place today when trying to get useful mods.

          • You don’t need any mods for end game content so end game is irrelevant. Banshee is more than enough.

            • Been playing for a couple months. I found you can get mods from clan vendor, banshee, nessus, and edz vendors. Im currently at 200 of 300 somethin. Its horrible have almost no warmind and charged with light ones. This company is so bad at implementing. Unless there is a exploit then they fix it overnight.

            • Definitely. A bunch of my friends just started playing this season and they are missing all the cwl and warmind cell mods and it sucks.

              • I think this makes a lot of sense. Like a legacy mod kiosk. You'd still need to engage in seasonal content to access the newest stuff, but I see no reason why a player should have to pray to the RNG gods for Warmind mods that are nearly a year old to be sold. I'm thinking just have a gap season. If you didn't do the seasonal stuff in season 14 then you're pretty much in the dark for 14 and 15 but when 16 rolls around you'll be able to acquire them from said kiosk.

How you obtain mods needs an overhaul. It is an overlooked issue by so many because they have all the mods, and mods are easily obtained if you just play while they are first introduced. FOMO problem that has not been addressed. God help you if you miss a mod. I have a veteran friend who missed a season due to real life and it's been over a year and banshee has not sold all the mods he is missing. I got my brother to try the game. We went to do his first legend NF and he asked me what he should run. Yeah, your build options are super limited on what you can do as a new player. He asked me how to get all the mods. It suuuucked to have to tell a new player, which I recommend this game to, that you have to wait and pray to rngesus that they randomly get sold. Yeah he doesn't play anymore. A kiosk would work. I don't really care HOW they do it. Just have all the mods currently in banshees rotation buyable with mod components with no random element. Have a reliable way to farm mod components. Mods need to be target farmable in a time frame that is reasonable.

              • Rather than another kiosk, just put said kiosk inventory inside of Banshee's inventory. Like how Variks or the Helm desk have upfrade trees inside their menus. Reduce the Tower map clutter. That, or I guess you could opt to put a mod kiosk inside the Helm... That'd be interesting I suppose.
