I still have faith in Bungie and the team.

Why ? Because I've been invested in this game since day 1 and have experienced all the ups and downs that have started 6 1/2 yrs ago. I'm not going into the past ups and downs as they are somewhat irrelevant now and some things only have an impact on the game right now. We've seen a lot of changes the past yr or so and for the most part people have been resilient and adapted to the changes made, the bad and the good alike. At this current time the day before chosen I'm sitting her playing with shaders and going through my vault to see what weapons are worth keeping and what aren't (even if they still have a season before sunsetting). While on sunsetting I like the idea of it, however, I don't agree with the sun setting of armour purely due to the fact that the material cost to masterwork it expensive. If sunsetting armour was to stay remove ascendant shards altogether. As for weapons I don't mind sunsetting but it reduces the pool right down and can make it difficult to run certain loadouts in end game activities to match certain modifiers. If the pool of weapons was to stay the same bring back the ability to change the element types of each weapon. Microtrans - I'm not bothered as you can get lost stuff with dust which is easy enough to get if you don't mind a the grind. Ornaments/mesomorph - Great idea. Some of the armour (and I don't mean to discredit the designers) of late has been a little average. Maybe Bungie can start offering the community to design the armour and then have that as the seasonal Everest ornament and any proceeds can go to a charity of the person who designed it choice or something along that line. Guided games - I don't even know how effective this is. I never heard of anyone completing things through this feature and it seems redundant when you have clans and fireteam finder (which is still bugged btw). Stasis - PvE I feel it's about right and doesn't break anything, looking forward to see how the rework of the light subs turn out. I like the idea of having just a single setting for each sub. I think the design of stasis did this well. PvP - For the most part it needs a few tweaks. I think when the average player needs to play stasis to be competitive against other stasis then it becomes a problem. Anyway, there's my 2 cents. I'm sure people may agree and disagree but hey you can't please everyone. I don't think there is anything else that I can think of IMO that seems to be an immediate issue/concern with majority of the player base. Overall I do still enough most parts of the big D and hope that in future seasons the right changes are made. Up for discussion, for the most part I do enjoy hearing what others think when it's constructive. Love love : JayWilly Xoxo

    • I've played bungie games since halo: ce. And I can say with certainty that the faith I have in bungie is to screw things up and to make good feeling guns and pretty epic skyboxes.

        • 18+ million people lost faith in Bungie a long time ago, and rightfully so. You are in the severe minority. Bungie constantly ignores feedback, lacks communication, spits on players, & makes boneheaded decisions. Even now, they refuse to backtrack on sunsetting or do the easiest often-asked QOL features such as auto-deleting blues or adding universal matchmaking. Luke Smith often said to blame bad things on him and he is not budging on anything. In his head, he is right and everyone else is wrong. Great mentality for a director.

                  • Good for you. I admire your faith. I started in D1 beta and have played every season since. This is an all-time low for me, worse than Curse of Osiris. It just feels like an artificially enforced hamster wheel grind. Why do any of it? So your power number goes up? So that you can play things and have them feel the same as they did last season rather than you being weaker? Run to stand still? Earn gear that will be useless in a year? DSC was fun and it was actually the first raid seal I have ever bothered to do - a testament to getting a good team who played together every week. Good value as a hobby - when the hobby is fun. I am going to take this season very casually and see how it goes. I know bungie will make a cool looking video and promise changes that will sound great - but this has always been the case. It's been a lot of years. A great innings. It's feeling like it's time.

                    • Bungie has had a loooooooooooooooong time to figure out what works and what doesn’t. And yet - here we are, still figuring it out. Personally, I’m enjoying PvE more than PvP atm. Exotics are in a good place. Story is being managed consistently. Art is amazing. Wish there were larger zones to explore with more puzzles and hidden stuff. Hate sunsetting b/c it disincentivizes optimization and collecting.

                      • I love this game. Ups and downs, this game is still better than any other fps, and the gameplay at its core is still my favorite above all other shooters. The lore, the worlds, the characters, the SPACE MAGIC! I just cant seem to get enough of it and I'm a player who has hardly touched the real endgame, like raids etc. If I were to make an opinion on the state of the game, it would be that I prefer the content droughts of old more than the season model. As someone who is practically addicted to the game it feels harder to play other games when I gotta put in the grind every week to keep up with the seasonal model. I like the season pass and the rewards they provide but not the bounties. I like the general bounties, precision kills, solar/void/arc kills, super kills, finishers, faction specific kills, etc. but not the weapon archetype bounties. Things like use this weapon, use this weapon, etc.

If this game can come back from d2’s launch it can come back from anything. I’m just disappointed that the game’s in this state after 7 fuсking years of trial, error and fixing. We shouldn’t have problems with strike replay-ability, loot incentive or Trials when all of those issues were and currently are fixed within d1.

Im in the same boat as you but as the person said under me why are we still struggling with d1 y1 issues in year 8? This should be destinys prime as I’m sure by year 10 the main content ends being that they are lightly sticking to the og format...

                                    • Faith is one thing, trust is another. Right now I don't completely trust Bungie's loot philosophy or their decisions. There's just so much I could say... You don't starve your PvP community, balance the weapon meta to near perfection, then release an over tuned toy like Stasis to compromise the state of Crucible. I can only hope that those balance changes come soon.

                                      • More power to you if you still have faith. I've mentioned it a few times in my posts but the biggest problems I've had with Bungie are their design philosophy at times and their overall decision-making. I remember when they nerfed White Nail on Whisper of the Worm ages ago. I was so disappointed. Not because of the weapon itself, their decision etc. (As someone who got Black Hammer in Year 2 of D1, it was great to experience what I missed out on) but because they repeated exactly what they did in D1. While we're on the subject of D1, no matter how much content Bungie add to D2, I can never truly see it as a genuine sequel to D1 until we have at least the majority of the systems and QoL we had back then. I'm talking about substantial things like Factions having some form of permanent relevance, A strike-specific loot system, Iron Banner having a more engaging loot system (at least in my opinion) and game modes like Combined Arms, Rift and Skirmish (I can't see why they can't be in the weekly playlist rotation) but I'm also talking about small things like the ability to decide whether you want an armour piece or a weapon from a vendor when you rank them up. Don't get me wrong, D1 wasn't perfect which is why I think if some of those things I mentioned did come back, they should be improved in some capacity and not be simple copy and pastes. For example, strike-specific loot coming back would be great but it doesn't have to be exactly like D1. Maybe they could combine the Umbral Engram system with it so we have a way to target specifc rolls etc. Iron Banner could be overhauled in a multitude of ways. There's also the subject of mass game systems like dedicated servers, a better engine etc. but overall, I think it's too late for those things to be implemented. The franchise is around 7 years old and I feel we're approaching the end. Given how this year of Destiny has been so far, I feel there have been some highs naturally but there have been a lot of lows too (sunsetting in it's current form, losing a ton of content etc.) and I unfortunately feel the bad outweighs the good right now. A few YouTubers I watch use the phrase: "We need NEW Destiny, not MORE Destiny" I generally agree with the sentiment but currently I feel this is how things are going to be for the rest of Destiny's lifetime. What I mean is there will be more content and great moments but I don't feel there will be any mass revolutions that will evolve Destiny. I hate to say it but I really do think the focus is shifting to Matter and Destiny is slowly being lowered into it's death bed. I don't want it to be this way. I love Destiny and have always wanted it to live up to it's true potential but I think the time for that has passed. I could be wrong about everything but we'll see.
