But you will never start to improve if you have the mindset of "I only suck because [insert generic excuse here]". Your chosen excuse, that you suck because there's no sbmm, is exactly that. An excuse. You need to look at what you're doing wrong in order to improve, if you're already blaming other external factors then you aren't gonna get any better. Additionally, you're also getting hung up on your opponents. Apparently 99.9% are hunters using HC/shotty. Don't exaggerate for effect, it's another excuse you're likely subconsciously hiding behind. Now, with that said. We can move on. The four stages to improving are: Unconscious incompetence. This is where you're making mistakes and you aren't even aware. Conscious incompetence. This is where you've realised you're making mistakes and you're very aware of them. This stage also often feels like you're getting worse because you're more aware of your mistakes so you notice them more often. The truth is you're making no more or less of the mistake, you just notice it more. Conscious competence. This is where you actively have to think about your mistake and tell yourself to not do certain things. You'll sometimes still make the mistake but you've more or less stopped. It's just a case of constantly reminding yourself. Unconscious competence. You've got to the point where you virtually never make the mistake again because it's become second nature. Right then. My suggestion is that you're very much struggling with movement, particularly up close. My advice, go into a private match with a friend and get a feel of the maps, examine them, get familiar with them, set little contests of who can close a gap fastest, see if there is something you are missing that other players are using as cover or platforms for their movement, use that radar of yours, start to recognise choke points and where would be very bad places to engage. Map awareness, and the understanding that destiny has a lot of verticality, are two key things to get a handle on. You can sit here and be told to use weapon x or weapon y and you may go have a game with them and it coincide with a poor lobby and you get 20 kills. But you haven't suddenly got better. There isn't a weapon in the game that you can give to a bad player and have them suddenly be good. They'd still be a bad player, they'd just be one who got some cheap/lucky kills.
