Obviously not if he left it there. He was obviously saving it for next season.

Sigh, you're right, still an exploit, and he deserved it. However, this system needs to be implemented, considering ascendant shard storage.
-
Using the post master as extra storage is an exploit, regardless of the item being stored. It wouldn't make any sense for Bungie to alter the postmaster to make exploiting the system easier. If you want to store extra golf balls, masterwork exotics & store them in the vault, then dismantle them when you need more.
-
It is not an exploit at all. It is a storage system for overflowing items. The exploit is that some of us play the game enough to acquire said materials and we are not allowed to actually hold/obtain them without some work around. There is also no fvcking way im going to MW anything to cram it into my vault (that is also limited on space) so later I can get 1/3 of my materials back. Those of us with these material issues will just as soon run another Master Ordeal than to waste space and throw away those materials.
-
It is not an exploit at all. It is a storage system for overflowing items.
🤦🏽 buddy, we're talking about exploiting the postmaster, not the postmaster itself.
-
Buddy, what? It is not an exploit, the game sends the items there. Not an exploit. It is truly ridiculous that the hardest upgrade materials to acquire in this game (through play not Banshee) will be removed from the postmaster and replaced by a "rare" shader. I am sorry man but if you are in a team doing activities, no one should have to say "bruh, I gotta go back to the Tower....my postmaster may be overflowing and I don't want to lose the materials I just got". You can seriously overflow Kadi in just a couple hours of playing. Asking for the auto deleting at the postmaster to have a built in priority is not unfair. This concept applies to people just playing and not stockpiling. Anyone can lose items they may not have even had a chance to go claim. It is an unnecessary punishment for the people who play the game. A punishment that shouldn't be justified by those that the "problem" doesn't affect. If you dont have that many Prisms it is ok, you will get some....why punish me because I do? You will never be able to rationalize an unnecessary material cap in a game that offers so many options. Honest question... how many fully MW sets do you have on your main character? I have about 12 fully MW sets that I can pull and use for different activities and you know what, beyond that....I can also MW anything I want when I need too. This is not a "flex", this is the results of grinding out the stuff I need for the game. So putting a cap on what I can hold and store is most definitely a slimy as$ way to restrict what we "can" do in the game. What it doesn't do is make me run the stuff I don't want to run, which is what they are trying to make us do.

Holding exotic engrams in your postmaster until BL releases to try to get new exotics on day 1 is an exploit. Idk how to make this any easier for you to understand.
-
How is holding materials an exploit? Your materials also get deleted. The way to work around the exploit is for Bungie to lock the loot pool for engrams not to remove items that players have grinded out to get. What about the players not trying to use the exotic engram method for next season but maybe they just haven't gone to Kadi? The thing is is we have actually been talking about this loss of items for longer than this exploit/strat has been the issue. So I will ask, what is the harm in prioritizing how items get removed from Kadi? I ask this because after BL drops, we will still lose items because the postmaster fills with blues and or seasonal engrams/currencies. The problem we have is not the "exploit" but that we lose the items we just work to get.
-
How is holding materials an exploit?
It's not. Exploiting the postmaster to bypass inventory limits is though.
-
It is not bypassing inventory limits. It is a limit that Bungie gave us. We can hold X amount in the inventory and Y amount at Kadi. There is absolutely no exploit. We are simply asking that certain things not be auto deleted for things of lesser value. So I am honestly asking how is it an exploit?. What it really sounds like is people who are not able (because of legitimate time restraints) or people who don't want to take the time to farm materials, complaining that some of us do/did. I have legitimately EARNED every item I currently have sitting at Kadi, why should I lose them?
-
It is not bypassing inventory limits.
Yes it is.
-
So you have no real answer as to why it is an exploit or how we are "bypassing" inventory limits? So there is nothing "wrong" with holding stuff at Kadi. I still have a stack of Vex Mind Components from the Vex Offensive, why because I couldn't vault any....so I left them at Kadi. Am I exploiting the post master because I left (a no longer viable) stack of currency there?
-
So you have no real answer as to why it is an exploit or how we are "bypassing" inventory limits?
It's self-explanatory.

Edited by WishingForRivenTentaclesTV: 10/19/2020 4:54:18 AMIt gives you 1/3 the materials for master working, and it's ridiculous how low the storage is. 10 is stupidly low. Not suggesting they change the postmaster alone (blues are dumb) but also that they increase the capacity.
-
Do you not realise that they have a stack limit because they don't want you hoarding materials....
-
That's the point, it damages hardcore players.
-
Bwahaha no it doesn't. At all, because they use them. And if you don't use them, like you don't then you deserve to lose them.
-
As I said, unless your mindlessly master working garbage, hoarding is a good strategy, and regardless holding people back still has no merit for the player, only for bungie.
-
And that's why they do it. To restrict you from hoarding materials. Your own fault if you lose them.
-
This mentality is why people leave the game. Sorry but why run a these high level activities if not for the reward. If you dont understand the value in MW gear and how much it can really affect your play then continue to dump your resources. Personally there needs to be a serious benefit to MW exotic armor. Until RNG gives you the right piece of armor, why would you MW it. This is a 2 sided coin. One side doesn't get it because it doesn't affect them. The other side is being told we play wrong because we don't want to waste materials but instead would rather have them on hand when needed. Who remembers when you could hold even less ghost fragments on the Tangled Shore. How much did it suck to have to go run yet another PE just because you needed to finish a wanted bounty but couldn't afford to buy (even though you just spent 3 hours there)?
-
If people leave the game because of that then they weren't very committed to start with.
-
You are missing the point I believe. It is not implying that they are leaving because of a lost item. It is more about lack of respect for players time. No incentive to play because the stuff you are playing for just vanished for no reason. The idea that the effort you put in isn't protected against something as basic as the difference in value of items. If I need to run an Ordeal on Master to have a fair chance for a drop, that item if sent to Kadi should be protected from vanishing do to something like a "rare" shader or blue gear. Yes, people stop playing games if it isn't fulfilling for them. For some people losing things they put effort into acquiring may be just enough for them to say "no more". I have several friends and Clanmates who no longer play because of these type of actions and reasons. Guardians who were D1 beta players that were very much committed to this game. So long story longer, it is the dedicated players that are being affected by this type of action and yes they will eventually tire of it.
-
It is protected in your inventory, the postmaster isn't inventory nor is it extra storage. So I believe you sir are missing the point.

I know that, I stated that myself, I'm just saying it's slimy and frustrating and only benefits them.
