Because it breaks gameplay for the average player when trials is treated like a business to make money off carries instead of just playing the game.

Not to mention the escalation. We went from carries to recoveries and now cheating runs rampant in Trials. Paid carries can be tied directly to the cheating issue you see in trials. Once money is involved people will do whatever they can to get their recovery done as fast as possible to ensure they are making money efficiently. Paid carries/recoveries never should have been allowed.
