To start, IB is fine with CBMM - Iron Banner is known for connection issues - probably more than any game mode in Destiny history. Sure it’s grim getting your ass handed to you by six better players but at least your not being screwed by someone sat in a cave or a Miccy D’s car park - I know what feels worse.
I also like the hunt system, it works - it’s a reward for capping zones however there is one change I’d make to it to stop matches from getting out of control quickly - turn respawns off during the hunt. As soon one begins - you die, you wait until the hunt ends to get back in the action. I truly think that would add to the desire to get a hunt as well as the desire to surviving one - plus crucible gods will love the challenge of a six on one 😂
Rewarding players in IB needs looking at too. I’ve played A LOT of IB this week and I’ve got very little to show for it - like everyone else, I want a sweet, sweet roll on that AR and I’ve got an okay one but nothing special. In the games I’ve played, I ranked basically top three on my team, whether we’ve won or lost, and I’ve probably won about half of those matches. Here’s what I’m proposing - wins should always reward you with a piece of Iron Banner gear, not only does it drive up the competitive element but actually guarantees you’re getting something for your time which right now cannot be said. Keep the random loot for the losing team so there’s still a chance they’ll get something for their time. Also, I’d love to see a MVP reward - finishing first on the winning team should reward that person with a guaranteed legendary drop (something that should be present in all crucible game modes!)
That brings me to another point about rewards; f*****g tokens. Two for a loss and five for a win - dear lord. The number should be doubled at best. Once you’ve done your bounties - Iron Banner becomes a nightmare for earning packages. I’ve got 98 tokens in about six hours of gameplay, that’s four packages, four rewards for hours of time? That isn’t a good trade at all. I don’t really care if you keep them or change them - they just need to be more consistent or let us buy a boon to boost how many you get.
I really don’t mind the quests - sure they’re a pain if you get a weapon you don’t normally use but having to get 20 kills with something isn’t unbearable. Heavy weapons should never be in the quests - for obvious reasons.
Obviously lots of points but I truly think most of these changes would really, really improve the quality and competitiveness of Iron Banner - something most players would enjoy.

Rewards are not rewarding at all and im not exactly going to grind for weapons that are gonna get sunsetted. Im just doing IB for pinnacle bounties then getting the hell out of pvp.

Given that Bungie only cares about content creators with 100k+ followers and they are happy with status quo for IB, I don't think it will change. To appear as a stacked team of bullies is good for business nowadays... on streams of course.

I have always thought the top player on the losing side should get a good drop or (when it apllied) not lose rank....something that would promote some kind of motivation. Knowing your gonna get stomped sux but getting rewarded or at least not punished for finishing top may help ease the pain a little. I've seen matches where top player on losing team finishes with 20+ kills....that isnt a bad match.

Have yet to see anyone teleporting, bullets seem to be registering correctly. I did come across one person that I melee killed and it registered the kill literally 3 or 4 seconds after, but meh if it's now and again I don't mind.

If your team loses and you have zero point caps, you get nothing at the end of the match. No rewards and no bounty progression. Punish those idiots and jerks who are either bounty grinding or trying to make their "Sik no skopz 360 YY double ladder stall montage" so that their mommies will finally love them. Meanwhile you're getting locked out every seven seconds. Edit- The person who downvoted this comment is one of the aforementioned montage makers.
