The issue with Fewinter’s Lie - and why Bungie has to sunset

This shotgun is a perfect example of why Bungie feels the need to sunset gear. Felwinter’s Lie is now the best shotgun for PvP. Yes, you can use mindbender’s or python, but you’re not going to get the same sort of hip-fire accuracy and range. Therefore, shotguns in PvP is a closed book. No more need to even try new shotguns in your slot if you want to play PvP. Sound eerily similar to a certain pinnacle Submachine gun you HAD to have if you wanted to stand a chance in PvP not so long ago. This is why sunsetting is needed. You make the perfect killing machine and can’t go any further without making new gear that just one-shots anything with no need for skill. They have given us Felwinter’s Lie as a taste of what not sunsetting will be like. And in Y4 when they finally sunset this gun you will be thankful for finally being able to use a different gun.

  • Nope. It only shows why sunsetting pinnacle weapons could be a thing. It doesn't show why sunsetting every regular legendary weapon in the game should be a thing. Felwinter's is OP, but the downside is you can only use it for a year. That still makes you want to grind good rolls on other shotguns IF you could use them for as long as you want. With the system Bungie is introducing it will most likely suck the fun out of grinding for most people. Because deep down you know Bungie doesn't really respects your time.
