I was just sitting here thinking of a subplot behind the Savathun story. Imagine, as cunning as she is, seen how much of a threat Darkblade could be if he was to be given a second chance at taking the Hive throne and gifted him with a Throne world. While Oryx thought him to be slain, he ascended into his Throne world. While we took our talents to the Dreadnaught and overthrew the King, Savathun then plans to deceive Alak- Hul into thinking he has a shot at the Hive throne. She lures hundreds of Fallen, Vex and Cabal into an arena at a hidden location to get slaughtered. He then in turn, gets stronger with each battle. Savathun then sets her sights on a location on Venus where she finds a settlement of refugees from various Exodus ships that have been presumed dead. She then sends Alak- Hul to capture them. Among them, the Stranger. Savathun orders none to be harmed. She needs them for bait to reel the guardians in. She scatters them across different locations to spread our offenses and try to attack us more strategically. Xivu Arath gives final instructions before departing to go back into hiding. Our objective is to search and retrieve all hostages at all locations across the solar system. Here's the catch. To get the location of Alak- Hul's hideouts, you have to kill powerful Hive knights. Once you slay a knight, he will drop a GPS device that leads you to the next location. The last location will be raid lair on Venus. You'll be faced with hordes of Hive and Taken. The boss will be someone that's somewhat familiar to us all.. Malok.. Ascendant Malok as he likes to be called nowadays. We defeat Bubble Top once more, but not easily. Upon viewing that bubbling liquid Hive soup sizzle away to thin air, an Ascendant sword appears. Your Ghost scans it and you unlock the new raid. It will also be a weapon in your power slot. This Ascendant sword is needed to access the raid. Only one person will be able to wield the sword. At least one person on your fireteam to be exact. You'll go to a cave filled with Hive corruption mixed with the vibrant colors and hues of Venus. Once you battle your way thru hundreds of Hive for the initial wave, you'll then need the Swordbearer to cut open a portal that leads them to Darkblade's Throne world. There, you will need to fight shoulder to shoulder and only relying on the flame from the Swordbearer to light the way and for health regeneration. You'll need to light lamps like in Crota's End. The 3 minibosses will be the knights you needed to kill to get the exotic swords but they'll be more vicious than before. The Swordbearer's ammo solely depends on the fireteam's ability to kill enemies. The sword's flame goes dim when low on ammo as well. There will be a couple of different attributes given to Swordbearers for raid mechanics. The fight against Alak- Hul will be firece scramble for survival. Once ammo is full, Swordbearers can cut Alak- Hul to begin DPS phase. As he always does, he will disappear between damage phases. In between, he'll run after the Swordbearer. The final damage phase will consist of the Swordbearer staggering Alak- Hul. The fireteam will then need to focus on his crit points for DPS. If he's not killed in 3 phases, he will then raise an Oversoul that will instawipe the fireteam. Upon defeating him, Savathun will deliver a very personal message that warns us of her presence. You'll receive Alak- Hul's sword upon your first completion. It's name: Nocturnal Lacerater. It's exotic perk: Darkest Blade- every other light attack deals arc damage. Heavy attacks deal solar damage. Guarding suppresses nearby enemies. Returning to the game will be Grasp of Malok, No Time To Explain and Darkblade's Spite, which will now be in the kinetic slot. You return to Zavala to finish the questline.. so you thought. You're then instructed to go to the Farm where vast improvements have been made and the Exodus refugees have found a new home. Hawthorne will go back to the Farm to help out. Tyra Karn will have a new questline for you from a "Stranger". You'll need to go back to Venus to investigate but the names Kabr and Praedythe came up. That's all I'll offer on that one til further details come to mind, but I think bringing familiar foes and allies back in the fold has always worked in Destiny's favor. I know I haven't outlined a path to Savathun yet but yet again, she eludes us. Nobody knows when she'll strike. She had her moments where she could've used prior events to her advantage i.e. The Red War, but what does she have planned?? Why haven't we seen Xivu Arath?? Maybe this approach will set up the Savathun raid. She uses her cunning to pull us out of hiding and using Alak- Hul's ambition to her benefit. Will she attack us directly or catch us at our most vulnerable moment?? We wait and see but in the meantime, Eris worries. She'll prepare us for her when the time comes but know we have bigger problems on the horizon. Upon completing the questline, you'll then unlock Darkblade's Arena Of Pain. You'll face hordes of Fallen, Cabal and Vex to the amusement of the Hive. They respond differently depending on how you do in battle. If you defeat all waves of enemies, you'll face a wave of powerful Hive enemies and a random boss. First week Shrieker, second week Acolyte, third week Wizard, fourth week Knight. The Ogre randomly spawns as boss each week with a higher chance of dropping gear from the event. It'll have new weapons and armor to chase for along with ornaments for all. New ships, sparrows and Ghost shells will be available from event as well. Consider this event like Prison Of Elders 2.0 but with a gladiator-esque twist. Well.. I think I covered all bases. I know it was rather lengthy but lemme know what you think. I try my hardest to come up with unique ideas in hopes someone notices and possibly brings me on board. I really love this game and wanna see it flourish as I'm sure many of you as well.
