An interesting Reddit thread popped up today.

So here is a question for Bungie, considering a lot of this is "old" content, why is there no solo version available for some of these quests that always require a group? Not everyone is able to dedicate the time to play in a group, indeed not everyone is capable of playing in a group.
Why do you always insist on locking some quests and some exotics behind group content, most of it possible solo up to a certain point, then require a group to complete?
Even if you didn't include a solo option, you could probably be nice and give players two options when the gear level increases, leaving one at the original quest level without rewards aside from any exotics and achievements tied into it, and one for the new gear level that provides pinnacle rewards etc.
So why don't you do this?

That picture cuts deep. Once tried deleting it and next time I was on nessus, there it was.
-
I got the rat king catalyst from strike rewards pop last week 🤣 requires others with weapon for progress is what it look in description ...... all my friends stoped playing last year
-
Cos it’s a multiplayer game?

There would be very little content that would become "accessible" to solo players based on what you said that they aren't already able to do so this would be a moot point. You would be able to get the raid exotics and thats about it. But they cannot do that, because the raid exotics need to be only from doing the raid. In many ways, they are the incentive to run the raids. So excluding those, there would be almost no content changed by your suggestion. If there was a significant amount of content that would become available, I might have a different opinion. However, I feel the need to point out that flaw in your logic. On top of that, you really can't expect to get everything in the game if you restrict yourself to playing solo. It's very easy to find a group on anything except PS4 (and maybe Stadia because nobody plays that), so I don't think the maybe one or two quests that would become accessible are worth it for them to change or for you to wait on. Of course, this is a generalization. We can argue specifics if you want, but generally this is how it is.

They don’t hate you it’s just not a solo game. End of story.

Edited by FdYAcsoyPKN83gLE: 5/12/2020 6:42:58 PMWhy Leviathan? How? Your statement is based because solo players can literally use this. No big deal.

Not every single thing should be available to solo players
-
It's ridiculous that you choose to continue playing this game without: a) Accepting the fact that you need a fireteam SOMETIMES and figure out a way to "get it done." OR b) Accepting the fact that there are OBVIOUSLY going to be multiplayer activities that AREN'T going to be dumbed down, just for you. The game is enough of a joke difficulty-wise without making everything solo-friendly.

Is a mass multiplayer game. Most quests that require a team matchmake for you or they have the find fireteam tab on this app. So they have given the solo players an easy option for the group activities. So stop hiding behind the solo card and ask for help like a big boy.
-
Imagine thinking that being a solo player is a choice
-
also why can't we have matchmaking for stuff...instead of having to use an app on a different device. the whole game is a joke in terms of matchmaking. if destiny 3 is like this, i'm not buying. also i deleted destiny 2 after realizing i couldn't get thorn without creating a party on the phone app. seriously, who makes these terrible decisions?

Edited by Ken_Malibu: 5/12/2020 11:12:32 AMThis game gets more and more solo friendly with every update, pretty weird for a co-op, team based game with a clan system and raids.

Edited by skf4: 5/12/2020 5:59:52 AMNo one hates solo players, what a wank of an article. If we see someone struggling we help them. Thats the way its been since the Cosmadrome, god new players are Snowflakes!! People will say anything to get attention on REDDIT.
-
I don’t think they hate solo players. They decided to build a multiplayer/coop game so some of the quests were designed to take advantage of the ability to load into the activity with a fireteam. It doesn’t take long to put a fireteam together.
-
Not everybody can or should be able to get every item in the game. Bungie just added 4 pinnacles as basically participation trophies for solo players. This game is best played with others. If you choose the solo path, some content will be locked out for you.
-
I would say that they don't hate solo player, but want solo players to find a group to play with.
-
This game is a social game, built for social interaction and team play. It is not a 1 player game and therefore they emphasize the social aspect. If that isn't your cup of team, don't go saying bungie hates solo players, they are gearing the game to a certain market, you don't see people complaining that Event Zero Dawn has no love for coop play or teams do you.. Buy the game knowing what you are getting, this is not a single player game and is built to be played with a team so go play with a team, if thats not you.. then don't.
-
Make friends, join a clan, make an LFG post. Not that hard. In the time it took you to write this complaint you could have made a post and found people for whatever activity you wanted to complete.
-
Here’s a fix stop being antisocial and actually use the lfg You won’t find people you like at first but soon you’ll start to find people you like my group of 5 -6 actually started as an lfg crota run and we’ve been best friends I’d say even family ever since. You can’t get through life by hiding in your comfort zone you’re gonna be forced to do things you don’t like but you do them anyway cause it’s beneficial to you.
-
Because they don't want to. Its that simple. I bet it would be extremely easy for our small indie studio to create options but you know what's easier than working? Not working so don't expect anything to change. Either go find people or just be okay with missing out on stuff. I came to terms with this back in D1 and I'm still enjoying and having fun with the game.
-
Solo players complaining because they can’t do a raid..... Get a team, use lfg, or get some friends
-
Then that's on you. It was no secret destiny is primary a online MP game but you choose to buy it. Stop complaing.
-
I'm on the last step for xenophage......... and then my friends quit playing Destiny 😴
-
It's not a solo game honestly.
-
I've been trying to solo the Thorn strike for a long time to no avail. I get to the last phase of Savathun and just get wrecked and have to start the boss fight all over. It irks me even more that thorn is an exotic I already earned in D1....
