Yes, that was one of the problems. By the time you realized you were getting hit around a corner you were dead.

I feel like that's a problem of reaction time for the player then? If someone can accurately hit me with the first 6 bullets around a corner they deserve the kill, otherwise you see whoever is shooting it before they see you.
