I’m coming up with a bunch of posts covering various aspects of this game that need fixing. First is trials. The biggest problem in trials is that the player base is leaving for various reasons. The first and biggest is the lack of incentive, myself included. This is in part due to saint’s loot pool being every item you unlock, but the tokens disappear each week. With that setup, people are just waiting for it to be fixed and especially for whatever item they want (personally I want the shotgun) to come into rotation so they can get just that in their loot pool and then farm it until they have the god roll. With this design, the incentive to come back each week is to just get tokens, that’s why they are deleted. That is dumb. My solution to this would be to allow us to keep our tokens, but have a cap to how many we can carry, and not allow us to put them in our vault or make multiple stacks (kind of like the dead ghosts for spider). This would have that same crazy farm for the first week, but it will heal in the long run as all the farmers have max tokens. On top of that, Saint needs to fix his loot pool. 2 things with that: number 1 is that he needs to have bounties that have a the loot pool as we have it now, where everything you get becomes unlocked in the loot pool. However, number 2 is that saint’s loot pool for engrams has to be different than those bounties in that he only has available what you unlock with your wins in trials. For example, say a weeks has the fusion at 3, chest piece at 5, and the shotgun at 7 wins. As you get to those wins, those items are unlocked in saints loot pool for engrams. That incentivizes players to come back each week to play to get those items, and players can still have a chance to try and get another drop as a god roll of say, the auto rifle through the bounties even though it’s not in the loot pool this week because they earned it last week. I think this would be a good fix to start, and I will be coming out with more posts covering other aspects like meta balancing and connection and cheaters etc. I would love feedback to try and make these solutions as good as possible
