Why exactly is "sun setting" needed when all Bungie would really to do to install a harder limit on Upgrade modules? I'm sure everyone gets like 3 to 8 upgrade modules per week when they set their minds and time to it, and then you can upgrade a bunch of the things you like to use, which can lead to power-creep and "eliminate the anticipation for new weapons". But really, wouldn't a simpler and less intrusive decision to this problem just be to put a choke on the one thing that actually allows us to infuse our stuff with anything? The first part of my point, the only thing that lets us usually upgrade our "trust" hand cannon, or our "Izanagi's burden" is upgrade modules because of the fact that most of the time, we don't get higher power duplicates of the weapons we prefer to use. Ergo upgrade modules exist so that we can just take whatever we have and slap a higher power score on it from something else. I can say in pretty good faith that everyone here knows that upgrading something via a higher power score duplicate is awesome, mostly cause all it costs is glimmer, which is easy to acquire from anything, so then we'll always take a gander at what we've got in terms of a duplicate and subsequently pick the better weapon in terms of rolls/stats/perks. Which leads to the second part of my point, why not just make all the new purple/legendaries more plentiful during their respective season. Adjust the odds on perks to reduce the odds of "god rolls" during the season as well make it so that this way we're maintaining/building the current seasonal guns via the relatively plentiful duplicates for infusion. This also leaves room for a thrill in the acquirement of any potential "God rolls", because you'll finally have that great roll for the weapon(s) Bungie wants you to use. this way we're not sweating for the next thing that we won't be able to cherish and enjoy for the rest of our D2 playtime, Its not like we're all tripping over ourselves to acquire the "exciting new" purple/legendary 700 RPM assault rifle or 350 RPM pulse rifle since these will be our workhorses, the things we use regardless to carry us to our real prize for the new seasons, Exotics. Final part, and this ties it up nicely. Imagine the scenario, while you may initially only get to 2 to 3 upgrade modules over a week, enough to let you keep the certain gear you like in use for a while, one may be partial to exotics or pinnacles, which means you have to decide what you personally want to keep. you're still able to get consistently stronger in the season, with the seasonal weapons being your go-to because they are easy to maintain and use over the course of the season. Later in the season you are able to acquire more upgrade modules and upgrade what you want, though you may be comfortable/like with the seasonal items you already have, as you have had time to test them over the season Please, by all means, comment, even better Comment and point out flaws, that way discussion can be had to remedy said problems and if you find this to be a good idea, please upvote.
and you know, I'm a tired singular person as thus far of posting this so there are flaws
To mods reading this, especially if there is good discussion below and high poll stats. Consider keeping this so that a potential new post can be made with better considerations.
