Man this game just isnt good. Did bungie need Activision

I havent played this game in months( maybe even a year). I used to be so addictive in D1 eventhough d1 had its flaws. Coming back i keep seeing old D1 content like cuicible maps. I have yet come across a new cruicible map. I keep seeing other players using old weapons. Hell in D1 every dlc came with new pvp maps. Am i missing anything here why hasnt there been much improvement to the pvp side of destiny? As far as story missions i may try to dive into that tonight but after playing pvp my hopes arent high.

  • You’re witnessing Bungie(Luke, Cozmo, DMG04 and the rest) at their best. To keep people interested in D2 they will bring things from D1 over. Since players loved D1, Bungie uses that. Bungie removed the “fun” from D2. Bungie is pathetic, in my observation

    • As a PvE player, It has gone down hill. As someone who has played since the beta, I have recently uninstalled the game for the very first time. It's just so boring now and it feels like Destiny has lost it's magic.

Yes and No. Yes because they need the resources which is why I think it would be in Bungie best interest to try and have another Publisher pick them up. Unless Bungie has a plan that they are not telling us getting a new Publisher seems like their best choice for Destiny... I think Zenimax would be a good fit but what do I know🤷🏼‍♂️ No because Activision is just an awful Publisher in general.

        • It's honestly getting worse with each passing season. Crucible is probably the worst out there amongst all the fps games. Ranging from matchmaking to network to the "massive" variety of weapons being use in crucible Seriously, got season of the worthy looking forward to stopping the almighty, only to find out you need to farm bounties for months and wait until all the bunker crap is done. All in all, yh it's getting worse and lazier each season.

        • Played d1 last night never had trouble finding a game crucible isn't dominated by special and supers pve felt fun. Now we know why bungie was popping champagne when Activision left it wasn't because Activision were some evil corporate overlord it's because bungie knew they could start putting out garbage content with no effort the fanboys would just keep on buying it and they'd be accountable to no one.

          • Right now it feels like they’re really struggling to keep up, that, plus luke smith once again turning the ship towards a different “type” of game — it feels like the game is buckling under the pressure of it all right now Honestly they need a Sony/Kojima situation -enforce standards -provide incredible development tools, sharing and technical assistance -dump money into their studio -but also leave them alone creatively -and not try to turn this into a free-to-play shooter with e-sports tournaments in mind If Destiny could keep it’s essence, but, get a budget, a better engine, and lots of help/support in finally presenting a complete vision I imagine Bungie with the help of Guerrilla, Naughty Dog, and the Ice team like Kojima had, but still being able to release multi-platform on PC, Xbox.

          • Look up recent articles about how Activision is tanking companies left and right. Smartest decision bungie ever made.

            • Their refusal to work with an engine that won’t overcomplicate the creation of content doesn’t help for a start. Then they’ve slowly fizzled our as they try to adopt a drip feed of content. Bungie, there’s nothing wrong with dropping a singular expansion of content and letting players go through it and leave until the next one comes out. Let it go. I know it really makes you clench your buttcheeks that people wont have to deal with the Eververse temptation no more but stop it. The old system was fine. At least we got better -blam!-ing content instead of piecemeal garbage.

yes, the game is not good anymore. I stopped playing during the forges seasons then came back when I bought Shadowkeep and the year pass...I shouldt have Shadowkeep is not even close to how good Forsaken was and the seasons suck (back then and now), it was cool to see Saint tho. Plus, you do not get an engram at every level AND the season specific engrams are gone. Now you are forced to grind for dust, or pay MACRO transactions to get the cosmetics even if you are a paying customer. We used to be able to get the cosmetics by playing and feel rewarded. Its so sad to see the money gouging and the quality of the content go down. Im 8 levels to get to 100 and I am thinking of either log in once a week to get the armor ornaments but other part of me wonders "whats the point" and wants to just uninstall, which looks more appealing by the day. The issue was never Activision, whithout them bungie has managed to be worse. playing for fun is now log in to do chores... its not fun anymore, its not farming X thing, its grinding for X thing... I hope u still have fun

No. They didn't need Activision. Their insistence on trying to drip feed meaningless content to satisfy the Destiny addicts has ruined much of the game in regards to overall quality. There's no point to majority of the content. I would gladly take the D1 content release style, with all its droughts, because it led to more cohesiveness. Better cohesive storytelling, better gameplay mechanics, and a PvE endgame experience leagues better than D2. I'm capable of holding my own in PvP (check my stats though I'm far from a no-lifer aimbot) but you're a fool if you think PvE and PvP can exist in perfect harmony. One must always overpower the other. And for Destiny, that obvious choice is PvE based on all of its sheer concept. Destiny is not E-Sports material, it's like trying to make Animal Crossing E-Sports. Its just a hilariously sad concept. There's a stark reason why all the top dog E-Sports games have little in the way of PvE content: less content to balance around. Y1 of D2 is a stark testament to what happens when Destiny chooses a PvP experience over PvE. Spoiler alert: it dies.] When the game stops trying to satisfy the no-lifer, max light in a day, I ran out of content, Bungie please you suck, I have nothing else to live for might as well kill myself, portion of the Destiny fanbase, the game will continue to suffer. More to life than Destiny. Go outside. Play other games. Let them actually make content. What are we on now, Menagerie 4.0? Getting real sick of the same old shit because the sad sorry lot of the community can't be patient.

They don't necessarily need activation, they need a publisher, one with money

                • Its funny but im in the same boat sort of. Time frame is about the same not playing but had an old fireteam member boot it back up so i figured id give it a shot. Came on here to see whats up first but clearly isnt the right time. Its a shame coming from beta and seeing it it its current state.
