Weapon Shelving was the reason why infusion came to be in the first place.

Nobody liked having their guns shelved as soon as the new expansions hit, that's why house of wolves first introduced infusion using Etheric Light and overtime became more commonplace.

  • Absolutely right. Etheric Light in May 2015 was the first solution to the problem of hard-fought gear from pinnacle activities being left behind by the next update... Then in Sept 2015 we had the 1st version of Destiny Infusion with The Taken King - the selected item went up to halfway the difference between the power of the two being fused. Remember that? Eventually we got full 100% Infusion - now they want to go back to the start? The mind boggles

I think a majority of the player base is dead set against capping. It’s early in his DC releases so obviously he threw that out there to see if the reaction would be as bad as they thought. It’s worse and they will either ignore the player base and follow through with an already failed concept until it cripples their profits and they walk back like before or they use common sense and find a different route to accomplish things. I hope it’s the later and they figure out a better way to accomplish what they want. They follow through with capping I won’t spend a dime. It’s that simple. And I spend so... Don’t buy the lie.

      • Infusion isn’t getting removed. You just won’t be able to level up a weapon infinitely. Say you get a drop when the max power is 980 and then it’s power caps out at what ever the max power is 15 months from then.

        • And it’s why Bungie should have confronted us on the necessity of it back then. All we’ve done is waste four years to come right back to the same place...with the same problems....for the same reasons.

          • Everything got left behind back then. The new thing will only affect legendaries. Legendaries which this forum doesn't like anyway and have dubbed as worthless and easily forgettable

              • This is simply incorrect. Infusion was added in House if Wolves because at the time only one set or armor and weapons could be max power and Bungie saw that replacing weapons every 3 months and so little choice wasn’t a good idea. And then a few months later all those weapons were rendered pointless as TTK made all weapons before it capped. This is why the currently proposed system has a 9 to 15 month lifespan.

                • Infusion works. Thats we they kept it. Devs need to do some homework before pulling the trigger on this shelving idea.

                • I wanna be real here again. For each class, there is only like two armors that's actually do anything. The others are pretty much useless...no they are useless. They're useless due to ridiculous nerfs or they were never a viable option in anyway ever. One example, and there are many, but let's take Severance Enclosure. This Titan chest piece is garbage and probably one of the most useless things in this game. For one, it doesn't even come close to performing what it's description states. It fn sucks. As I said, there are others and the other classes also have completely useless exotic armor. Feel free to to post your thoughts below. Maybe, just maybe Bungie will see it and male a tweak or two. Then again, they'll probably ignore it or instead nerf it more.
