Was winning in a survival game, trying to get solar kills for lunas, then on the last round in a clutch situation I just get kicked to home screen. How many times do the servers need to go down, or suffer from connection issues until it's realized that we need better servers. There should never be the possibility of getting kicked from the servers so much that the game gives you a cooldown on it's competitive pvp, when it's not even the players fault... If this shlt isn't fixed before trials, man it's gonna be a mess. Getting decent servers will fix so many of your problems. I don't understand how it's not a thing yet with so much of your player population being pvp sided. I'm not one of those people that screams or makes a post for a nerf every time I'm killed by something, but I've had enough of getting kicked from the game when my internet is just fine, and I know it's not just me because plenty of people on my friends list are saying they're getting kicked as well, and also the destiny down detector reports are spiking right now, as per usual

Fix the matchmaking first. And, bungie, you brain-dead monkeys, thanks for a 5-long lose streak and counting. Fcuk you all.
-
Not sure why their servers are the worst of all live games. Don’t they make enough money?
-
They need dedicated servers so bad.

It's because Bungie skimped out on using dedicated servers only, and opted for something they call 'hybrid peer-to-peer', which is a combination of Bungie servers and peer-to-peer connections, which is only _slightly_ better than Destiny 1's peer-to-peer, but suffers from the same issues where your IP address is exposed to everyone else in the match, which makes it very easy for your opponents to engage in network manipulation like lag switching (hardware or software), drophacking, and even DDoSing (Distributed Denial of Service attack). More info here: https://www.pcgamer.com/the-strange-science-of-destiny-2s-uniquely-complicated-netcode/ https://www.gamerevolution.com/news/355113-bungies-response-destiny-2s-ddos-attacks-angered-community https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/Hardware-Network/connect-network/dos-attacks-faq As far as I know, the only version of Destiny 2 that doesn't suffer from this issue, is the Google Stadia version, since it all runs on Google's cloud servers. I thought about getting it, but maybe after they work out their input lag issues. For now, I play through a VPN connection so that even if I get hit with a DDoS attack, I can always just switch to another VPN server without worrying about my home internet getting shutdown, but unfortunately, that cannot prevent opponents from lag switching or drophacking, which is why I stopped playing Competitive, and refuse to play Comp until and unless Bungie switch to dedicated servers only, like what Ubisoft did with For Honor and Division 2. https://techraptor.net/gaming/news/for-honor-plagued-with-drophacking-and-ddos-issues https://forhonor.ubisoft.com/game/en-us/news-community/152-319976/for-honor-now-on-dedicated-servers-on-all-platforms https://www.shacknews.com/article/109813/the-division-2-shows-your-public-ip-to-others-by-default Beyond just simply being an 'inconvenience' in terms of fair competition in gaming, Destiny 2 exposing players' IP addresses to anyone and everyone we come into contact with in the game is a privacy and security risk that is unconscionable. Bungie have a duty of care to their customers to protect us from DDoS attacks by switching to dedicated servers only, because DDoS attacks are not only serious federal cybercrimes but can be used as cover to mask other kinds of attacks on one's network security, which is particularly dangerous for vulnerable customers such as women, children, and indeed, disabled players who rely on always-on internet for medical and assistive technologies that are internet-connected (IoT medical devices). It is also a threat to people who run home businesses, such as streamers/YouTubers, which is why a lot of prominent Destiny 2 YouTubers are now advertising VPN subscription services. https://www.windowscentral.com/use-vpn-xbox-one https://www.techadvisor.co.uk/how-to/game/use-vpn-ps4-3670694/ https://www.techradar.com/vpn/best-gaming-vpn Hope that helps.

The game needs severs for them to be able to do that. The game doesn’t have severs. It runs on a pier to pier connection. This is the way it has always been.
-
Please!!!
-
The reality of the situation is No, they’re probably not going to spend that kind of money on a game that’s half or over way through its life cycle. The best we can hope for at this point is a new game Engine and regional dedicated servers for D3.
-
Peer to peer. They said it would be this way before the initial launch.
-
When trials will come back, people will remember why it had to be removed. You can't do an ultra competitive PVP game mode with no dedicated servers and no balance at all. It would not be a problem actually, if there was not specific rewards locked behind jt.
-
Can we get servers period.
-
idk why but i tried logging in and was met with a black screen after choosing a character

Edited by CaptainW1nky: 2/16/2020 1:19:38 PMIt's not the "servers" because the amazon servers you bounce off of don't really do much of anything.. the server is mostly made up between you, larry in Australia, fred in Germany, leo in africa, jack in hong Kong, and spencer in canada all trying to share information about the "server" your 6 connections all across multiple oceans are trying to create. When you start to lose packets that crashes the "server" your connections were making which results in you or someone getting booted. Buy a geo filter router.. it'll protect you from this for the most part.. but if you run into fred in Germany and he's using a VPN to play across the ocean on your countries servers it'll either kick you or it'll kick him because your router won't want to send him information when it realizes he's way outside of the 3500 mile search range you've given it.
-
When the game was popular and fun they didn't buy servers. Do you really think now when they have all but alienated all their player base they would buy some now ?
-
Playing on Xbox I suppose We got repurposed halo servers while playstation and pc got new ones. And even there it's not that great As much as I hate fortnite, but the dudes have top notch servers 🧂
-
They should at least make a reconnect option, since you can't reconnect if ou got booted with error code. It's frustrating, harming and tiring to be so.
-
They'll never get dedicated servers - i'd be happy if they admit that the hybrid P2P isn't on the same level. I can't stand them selling it as if it's a ground-breaking concept and it's viable. It's cheaper. They just need to be honest about that.
-
Cod has dedicated servers, Activision tried to bring em to d2. but cheapskate bungie said no.
-
It's called --->DEDICATED SERVERS<---
-
It always seemed to me like you get these error codes, then get kicked, when you’re on a decent win streak. Observed this pattern myself. Almost every time I’ve won more than 5 games in a row I get kicked. Made it to legend & I never want to play comp again😑
-
Comp is a crock of bs. I just have to post this in every PvP realated thread for the rest of the season. How anyone thinks that giving one or two people all the shot registration and then calling that competitive is beyond me. Why even bother playing if you have no chance or they don't at least spread non-shot registration between both teams? They better come up with something to entice people into playing it because once the tsunami of unbrokens comes next season almost no one is going to take that silliness seriously or even bother clicking on it. Why does it have worse shot registration than classic mix if there is only 6 people instead of 12?
-
We dont have servers LOL, even worse XD
-
Edited by The 7th fall: 2/16/2020 11:11:50 AMThe day we get better servers is when Bungle grows a conscience and that day will NEVER happen. EDIT: But if it did I'd genuinely be surprised at Bungle actually doing something to benefit everyone as a whole, not just to line their pockets.
-
Better yet. No always online. At all. That removes resets. Opens up the game. And your server cost can go to dedicated servers for PVP. No more getting kicked offline as a possibility thanks to archaic design. But nah. Game needs to suck instead.
-
You should've seen the guy last week telling me that D2's hybrid servers are just as good as dedicated servers and that giving it true dedicated servers wouldn't improve anything.
-
Edited by GeneJumper: 2/15/2020 8:36:38 PMDedicated servers would make things better than the current p2p hybrid. But there would still be problems without region lock even with dedicated. Ping is the real problem and not enough population for sbmm But it’s pointless to even hope for dedicated servers, not going to happen
-
Hi. I work for Bungie and I’m here to tell you that it is 100 percent your fault and not on our side in any way, shape, or form. Please uninstall Destiny 2 and that should fix YOUR problem.
