The best Recluse nerf would be buffing it into an exotic.
Think, is the issue really the gun's damage alone or is it that magnified by its ability to be paired with any other top tier kinetic or heavy?
Recluse still rivals Huckleberry fairly well and if made exotic, it put the fight on equal footing.
You don't hurt Recluse, you hurt how it can be used with other things.
The gun's power and ability to hit crits anywhere warrants a choice.
Make players decide it then, instead of just hitting it.
Be CREATIVE instead of simple-minded nerfs.

2 RepliesI've never understood why they didn't do this with any of the Pinnacles. Especially since they've done it before with Y3 elemental primaries from the Age of Triumph raids in D1. Recluse, Revoker, pre-nerf NF/Luna's, and MT should all be exotic. The ones that aren't worthy of being exotic should be buffed so that they are. This would allow the pinnacles to be powerful and have unique perks, without taking over the game. It would give people a reason to grind comp again. And it would hopefully make Bungie not be afraid to significantly buff the bad ones like Hush, Oxygen, Delirium.

Find it funny that people with no programming experience or game development experience are being critical to one getting nerf and saying instead make all pinnacles exotic. Most weren't exotic worth to begin with and honestly it's a crutch for people who don't want to put effort into anything and can't aim. Get over nerfs and buffs happen welcome to gaming. If you don't like that most of the community asked for it then go play something else. And have the same issue there. The whole buff everything is a straight power creep bs as well and won't fix the issue because then the argument goes to nothing is challenging. If it matters to you so much go get a degree and become a developer all the complaining is childish especially when you don't bring up an valuable point and it doesn't fix the issue to begins with. Seeing as last season it was all legendaries.

1 ReplyI'm one of the weirdos that didnt like recluse when I got it. Lol. It may do massive damage but its small magazine and it shooting all over the place despite its supposedly high stability really doesn't attract me to the gun.

1 ReplyIt would crush the current pve meta setup. But not really address the balance problems it has currently. Plus that wouldn't matter much on pc where swapping out exotics is considered a regular strat to do in both pve and pvp.

4 RepliesWouldnt change that much things. My loadouts dont even need an exotic weapon anymore. Im mostly using exotic primaries now. Huckleberry...any exotic HC...and the game is way more fun. After all therr is more adds to kill than bosses to dps. Sure i could use izanagay, but its not the only viable dps option. Its also a frustrating weapon, i hate izanagay's reload mechanic.

Thats also the reason that we don't get new pinnacle legendary weapons from Zavala, Shaxx and Drifter. Their pinnacle perks makes them exotic.

Wouldn't do anything, mountaintop is a legendary and most legendary heavy grenade launchers do the job.

14 RepliesConsidering the best PvP loadout in the game features no exotic weapons (Mountaintop, Recluse, Hammerhead), and the best PvE loadouts use Mountaintop as their chief damage weapon, this "nerf" does nothing but give recluse a new background. The only thing this would affect is GoS, where Izanagi is king of damage. But even then, mountaintop still would do the job perfectly well. I gets rid of the ability to pair it with an exotic, but it doesn't get rid of the ability to pair it with its best partner.

Edited by Asylum: 11/19/2019 9:22:22 AMThe best recluse nerf is to not nerf it at all since its not truelly OP and can be easily out played in crucible and then in PVE you can learn self control and run anything you want because crying "IT MAKES STUFF TO EASY 😭😭😭😭" is about the dumbest thing ive ever heard in gaming history. All nerfing it will do is cause yet another weapon to be "OP" which will lead to that one getting nerfed because of streamers and criers and then the cycle will continue until we're crying because now all our weapons are garbage because we cried until they were nerfed into oblivion. I never have and never will understand the nerf logic this community has because my IQ score is an actually number, not random symbols and the poop emoji

It is exotic quality even with the "nerf". I say nerf, if you can get headshots the weapon is unchanged from my understanding. TTK hasn't changed after the master of arms proc, you just can't hip fire kill 3 guardians while spraying in the general direction with 1 clip. Not hard to headshot with the recluse.

13 RepliesUnfortunately this wouldn't work. Most PvP loadouts that have Recluse, don't have exotics. So, all this would achieve is giving it a yellow background.
