Momentum Control, blessing and a curse

First of all, I'd like to start off saying this is not a complaint post, this is just a thought train on the game mode and the ups and downs of it, possible improvements, and overall feel of the mode. These are all my opinion, and if yours differs, please feel free to state it in the comments, but be kind. This post isn't made to breed hate. With that out of the way, I have been playing momentum control since it appeared two weeks ago, and now that it is (likely) about to disappear, I can gather all my thoughts. I played more crucible in these two weeks than I have ever wanted to play crucible in my life on destiny. This game mode had some of the best experiences (and the worst) I have had in the crucible in all my time playing this game. Pros and cons: Pro: - ability to work on catalysts that are crucible based (I dont play crucible super often, and when I do I like to use guns that I normally use and feel good about using. This game mode allowed me to work on things like jade rabbit, vigilance wing, and suros, that I normally would not have worked on otherwise) - progression on pinnacle weapons (I acquired revoker, recluse, Randy's, and mountaintop all during this mode. While this seems to be a common thing, with the fighting lions and jade rabbits dominating the mode [I'll bring this up later in the cons], my main point here was actually with the Revoker. I NEVER use snipers in crucible because I'm awful at camping and hate sitting around waiting for kills, and I'm very bad with snipers in general. This mode let me get a weapon I previously had abandoned the quest for because I never would have used snipers otherwise) - I dont need to worry about dying frequently because almost everything kills in a split second. Typically I die a lot in normal crucible. I'm not an awful playerz my kd is positive but I'm by no means a great player. When I die in one shot to a corner camping, hallway-watching jade rabbit user, I dont feel bad because it's what the game mode is, and that is...okay I guess. Now. Cons: - as mentioned above, the ability for players of any skill to freely acquire pinnacle gear as easily as this will wreak havoc on the crucible in the long run. I don't like to, and I have never complained about guns "being too overpowered" (that's a topic for another day), but if I could get mountaintop and Randy's in less than 1 day of playing, I can only imagine how many of them will be plaguing the crucible in the future. I've pledged myself to using them only in pve because I know how game changing they can be if used well, but now they will be everywhere in the hands of people who are hungry for kills (not saying everyone who uses them is like this, just a general statement). - the mode itself is contradictory and demeaning to it's own nature. While I enjoyed the mode, for a game titled "momentum", there was very little movement. It felt like all people were doing for the most part was staying in one spot watching a hallway and not trying to capture points or run around. With this all being said, my overall view is that this game mode, while it helped me work on things I wanted to get done, would have been made 100x better if the momentum aspect of it was better played out. Example: If you are moving/running, or shortly after you stop moving from running, your weapons gain a damage buff akin to what we had in the game mode we got. However, if you are standing still, or not moving (with the exception of capturing a point), you gain a debuff that makes you easier to kill. Or something along those lines. Obviously if you got a debuff AND players got a buff while moving, it would breed another 1 shot simulator where everything killed you because double damage buffs/armor debuffs would be crazy, but along the lines where movement actually affected gameplay and the ability to do more damage. THAT would have made this game mode possible to work on things like pinnacle weapons and catalysts while reducing the amount of camping and stagnant gameplay. Anyways just some thoughts. Thanks for reading!
