I recently started farming kindled orchid from the black armory, and after finishing the first ada-1 quest to unlock the forge(s) I did a few hand cannon frames at Izanami in EDZ which is pretty easy and farmable, then the next day I got back on to continue farming and was greeted with Bergusia, which seems to do everything in its power to be a painful experience for the player. now thats fine for most things, to have a much more difficult option off to the side, but the problem here is that I have no choice. after looking through some forum threads I learned this was not the case pre new light, you had to unlock the individual forge to play it (as far as I know, I am a new light-er so my knowledge of pre relaunch destiny is limited and I dont know exactly how everything worked).
instead of just leaving the system the way it was where you could play what you want, they scrapped that and lumped it into one node on a daily rotation.
that is really stupid. especially with the DRASTIC contrast in difficulty between the forges.

14 RepliesBergusia’s boss is now overpowered. The battery part is not to bad with a risk runner but three guardians at 900+ with full supers and heavy can’t take down a spider tank. Before Shadowkeep I killed that tank 100 times.

4 RepliesYou won't wish the old system back. You had to walk on the planet and interact with station to start the forge. It took you like 5 minutes to do that. Now multiplcate that with 12 weapon frames and you got an hour of play time just walking to that station to start the forges. This new system is much better as the old one, even if it is not perfect. Bergusia forge: You should play arc energy weapon. Set your super and abilities to arc. Get a sniper in your primary or power slot. Go to the spawn point on boss wave and snipe the tank down from there. Only the boss can hit you there but you can ignore all minions on the ground. Have fun.

4 RepliesEdited by Maskerader: 10/20/2019 6:12:34 PMA solid advice: Riskrunner makes this forge a walk in the park. And now you have a questline to get that gun, it's not even a random drop. If you haven't got that gun - do this quest (Pain and gain). If you haven't tried that gun - try it. This gun alone is enough for the first two phases. So you can choose any kinetic and power guns and your super that would be the best for the boss phase. I usually take any long-range super, a kinetic sniper rifle and a linear fusion rifle (they have high crit modifier).

They probably did it to ensure players could find a game, instead of players being split between 4 forges it funnels them into 1. Also bergusia isnt super hard just stick to the area to your left when you first drop down into ths forge its probably the safest area. As for boss fight time slap on a sniper rifle and jump back up to the entrance, only the boss can hit you there. Izanami and volundr are pretty straight forward and simple but gofannon can be overwhelming pretty easily so i suggest using risk runner there to have 50% damage reduction against all the arc damage you take.

1 ReplyYes, have heard that tank is very hard to kill now.

Here I thought that my team was brain dead doing bergusia earlier. Turns out the tank now has a huge health pool.

5 RepliesI do agree with you but I also see why they changed it. There wasn’t a whole lot of players running the forges pre Shadowkeep and there were probably a lot of issues with match making due to that.

1 ReplyIt does suck but - the forges were dead . They needed to breath life into the forges making sure there were players in the forge .

They mentioned in order to move forward and make room for new stuff, old stuff would be scrapped. This is for better game flow- I for one think it's a good thing.
