It just seems to me that the base model Vette is surprisingly low priced.
For most of the guys I know that own one, that's always been a big selling point. Inexpensive performance to start, then they'll cam, intake, exhsust, tund and call it a day. I always loved the C3 (those curves!), hated the disco C4 snd was pretty "Meh" sbout the C5 & C6. The C7 is nice and, I feel, really did a good job of dispelling the idea of Corvettes being cheaply made. Local dealership where we picked up a Blazer a while back is slated to get 28 (!) C8s. I'll stop by and check 'em out when they artive, though I have no intention of buying one.

 • I've personally never viewed the Vettes as affordable before. I guess the cost of the past gen Mustangs getting up into real estate values territory is making the base priced Vette seem to be a bargain. C4's are appalling. I knew at a time I could have bought one, cheap, and would have dropped a Ford 429/460 properly modded out into it, and rebadge it as s Fordvette just because I'm so sick of seeing classic Fords and Fox bodied Mustangs being LS'ed to death. Auctions are full of them, so much so that if you watch Barrett Jackson or Mecum you'll know that even the commentators are tired of seeing it. It devalues the whole vehicle, unless it is an extraordinarily exceptional build.
