Can we get custom/editing shaders please ?

Full editing of shaders like being able to move the colors around and even replace them with other colors from other shaders. With most if not all shaders there is always one color I'd like to delete your replace like the brown and purple on the prestige laviathen shader which I'd replace with the year 1 crusible shader red... All this recent talk about more in depth customisation got me thinking about well how to make more depth with the systems we have now... I like the idea of armor ornaments but the execution might need looking at, how about instead of going through all the old armor and out right making them ornaments just make it so we can make are own armor ornaments, you would just go to the armor piece in your collections apply a shader then save it as an ornament that you can then apply to any armor you want, even exotics and this wouldn't be a problem cus you can just inspect their gear to see what they have on as the ornament only changes the armors instenced look, it doesn't change the armors icon, imagine looking like your wearing 4 exotics but only wearing 1 of them... Im thought is if you like the look of an armor piece you should be able to look like that. Also I side note: when you edit/make a shader it will always be called a custom shader but the individual colors when you hover over them would tell you what shader their from... Imagine x4 of top gold from calus's treasured OMG... Edit: thank you guys for the support on the post, I'm very passionate about this and to see all your support really feels good man... Edir 2: again thank you so much for the feedback with each up vote it become more and more likely this post we be seen by a dev or 2... hopefully they like what they read and again thank you.

Id be happy if we just got some one colored shaders to be honest. Got the First Light shader the other week. It has this gorgeous dark purple (almost black) high gloss color in it. Ive never seen such color in a shader before. Unfortunatly its mixed with some other crap colors that ruined everything.

This is nothing personal or anything like that, just pointing out a fact. This is another pointless post knowing the game is a huge mess and shaders are a hot topic? It's no wonder Bungie doesn't want to put any real effort into this game, you guys make it way too easy for them. When petty things are asked for, guess what? Petty things are all you will ever get. It's been this way for 5 years now. This form needs to step up big time...

    • Or shaders could just work like they did in D1. 99% of shaders look like shit because the colors aren't applied to the gear correctly.

ehhhhh idk. On one hand it would be sweet to have this in the game and on the other... well idk who would use anything else but this. Bungie can see value in shaders as in-game/monetary rewards and they serve as a light weight part of the economy. However, I would love an option to 'mass apply' a certain selected shader. I am a firm believer that shaders should always be part of the collections and should cost some glimmer to apply, taking them out of their own spot in your inventory. This way, if you hover over a shader in your collections there would be an option to mass apply to all armor for the appropriate cost -- a lot like it was in D1 where shaders were relegated to all of your armor and not individual armor pieces. Alternatively, you can still apply a single shader when looking at a particular piece of armor.
ACTUALLY... a thought just crossed my mind that you could possible 'rotate' a shader and it would apply the different colors to different parts of the players armor/weapons. This way, your IKELOS shader could show more of the carbon fiber look to armor or you could 'rotate' it to display more of the shiny orange color on armor. just an idea.
• One of the few things i love in Anthem that i would love to see in destiny or Warframe color palette, either way it would be better than Destiny's shader system atm. In the end this wouldnt be asked if they did a good job doing great shaders... same goes for gear btw, where's the people that made all cool gear from D1? And did bungie fired the ones that made trials gear in D2?

Going for a specific look on my gear is incredibly tedious. I’ll find one that has the color I want, but for some weird reason has some weird patten or texture put in the color. Or I’ll put a green blue silver and black shader on and my armor will be yellow with purple polka dots. It feels like 1/8 of all shaders either lie about what colors are included or include a fifth hidden color. Then after going through 80+ shaders I’ll finally get my armor to the color scheme I want just to realize the color in between certain pieces is off because I had to use five different shaders. You might not notice, but I’ll know.

        • I don't think eververse is the issue here, the shaders are incredibly cheap. I think Bungie is worried about people finding some way to be offensive. Remember in year 1 when they had to change that pair of Hunter gauntlets because they could had a tiny bit of backlash?

          • I'd rather they just get rid of those bits on armour that can't be coloured with a shader personally. But that's just me since I'm content swapping between Precursor Vex Chrome, Dead orbits fate and Amethyst veil on my gear lol.

            • This would cool. I'd also like to test out shaders more quickly. Having to select a shader, wait for it to load, exit the viewer, open the shader list again, and the select a new shader is so slow. I'd like to be able to have a proper shader testing area where I can quickly select a new shader with the character still on screen like most every other character editor has.

            • Eververse shaders are super cheap though. I'm pretty sure bungie just wants something else for us to chase and flaunt. Midnight Smith or calus selected show that you did the thing and we like to flex on new players

                • Custom color builds would be nice. Full custom like sliders seems difficult (I'm not a programmer) but maybe acquiring shaders would unlock those colors and we could combine them in any way we want?

                • Good idea but it's not going to happen, eververse provides the best shaders and they all cost bright dust to reaquire. Anything cosmetic will be put in eververse, if we ever get the option to edit our guardian that will no doubt be an eververse feature that cost silver.

                  • What we should have is a slide scale of colors to adjust the pieces of are armors brightness and darkness as well as colors.

                      • Yea a great idea ever since Destiny 1, but u got to remember who where dealing with. A brainless backwards company. Lets advertise alot of fake content so we can ripoff our players Make weapons weak Make every super weak, ect.. ect.. ... Oh and lets not forget. They can't make custom shades cause they can't even make one that's not -godwinslaw!--inspired' Kekistan flag!!!! . I know ya remeber that 1. Bungie is a -blam!-ing joke. I wouldnt be surprised if they don't know what the North Korean flag looks like and they add it on a shadowkeep gear piece. Smh

                        • Not gonna happen. If so they may remove any other shaders from the game. And since d2 lootpool is a bit poor they wont just get rid of one of the filler items. They can even remove blues from endgame, what are we talkin about?

                          • Next year, new huge DLC with Venus returned! And new feature! The palette will be your new shader! Note: We will rework every armor and weapon with universal slot for the palette. Customize the color of your gear! All you need to do is earn it from the specific activity. Good luck, Guardians! We listening.=)
