Losing all of my armor again kind of makes me want to stop playing this game again.
This isn’t a shit post. It’s just a... sad realization post.
I finally got the hunter legs from CoS this week, but it means nothing. I’ll only get to use them for a few more weeks before they’re left behind and I delete them.
Last time it happened with EP armor and Solstice armor.
When Curse of Osiris came out I quit this game for months, but I came back with Forsaken. I’ve taken breaks and whatnot, but I’ve generally enjoyed this game ever since. But, I just have that feeling again... why keep playing this game when loot just doesn’t matter and my time gets crapped on?
I think the changes being made to armor are good for the game, but I think Bungie should have done more to make sure our vault wasn’t wiped out again. They should have made all year 2 armor available as ornaments.
Even the cabal only destroyed our vaults once, Bungie. This is your second time in 2 years.
Edit: thanks for all the bumps. It would be cool if Bungie saw this and worked on getting all armor brought forward to 2.0. If they can turn all Eververse armor into ornaments, maybe they can do the same with all armor.

6 RepliesI do have to laugh at people thinking we’re getting new and awesome looking armor.....umm, this is Bungie, it’s going to be the same exact armor we’ve had. You just have to regrind what you want over and over.

Why can't they just let you turn in old armor to banshee to get upgraded like you're gonna do with the new one? Seems win/win?

13 RepliesI really don’t understand you guys who clutch at the gear like this. This is how EVERY loot game that has ever been made operates. YOU HAVE TO LEAVE THE GEAR BEHIND, so there is room for new stuff to chase!!!

Honestly losing my armour doesn’t bother me. There’s really nothing that fantastic that I’m going to miss. I’ve got great sets built. Tier 19 builds for all 3 characters. Sniper builds, fusion builds, etc etc etc. There’s just nothing special. Hopefully this changes with Shadowkeep.

This is Destiny, get the current gear grinding till its yours, then new stuff comes out making yours worthless, grind again. That's the game love it or hate it

I understand the disappointement...but I'm OK with it because it means our armor system is being vastly improved. Now, we can look how we want and play how we want. That's a good thing imo, even if we have to sacrifice our old gear.

it said somewhere in the TWAB that you can pick up all your y1-y2 legendary sets from the gunsmith when shadowkeep drops, i dont think we need to regrind it, just masterwork it and whatnot

They are nothing but a fashion statement. Are you seriously telling me that you want your character to look exactly the same for the rest of the game? You have no interest in newer armors and designs? Oh no, Bungie is making something with little value redundant again ;-; (Ignoring the fact that they are doing this explicitly to make your armor choice more free-flowing and meaningful)

... Did nobody read the Solstice of Heroes news blurb? It says, specifically in bold letters, that ANY legendary armor set you posess before Shadowkeep will be available as an armor 2.0 pickup from the gunsmith

I wouldn't worry to much about that, just gives you something else to work towards, it wont take long get the armour back and then its just a case of modding it out. if it works out to be a good system than it may be worth it because right now i don't really care much for the armour anyway. they do good in some bits but mostly they could be a lot better.

23 Replies1) Its just armor. 2) Every MMO you go through this basically every year or two as leveling up you have to replace verything and your gear just becomes cosmetic at best. Serious question... have anyone of you played an MMO? Yeah you replace your old stuff... like bringing stuff up/infusion doesn't exist at all. Its all exclusive to Destiny/Division.

Bungie has said that it is bringing Transmog to Destiny 2. Yes your armor will be useless but you can grab the skin you like without having to bring up all the gear. Guns probably will remain, they would need the loot pool large. but you are going to have to infuse it first.

Keeping old stuff for extended periods of time gets dull. Rather have as much incentive to play as I can get.

I don’t care about all armor, I only care about present or future experiences in the game and how the community and the game dance to the swing of pure entertainment where honesty and transparency in bungie are predominant elements. A fresh start is always welcomed if they know what the players want. Not everyone cares about armor as much as they care about weapons.

2 RepliesIt’s because Bunghole does not understand their own game, how changes made now impact the game a couple months or even weeks down the road. They are always playing catch-up, the game is a yard sale because of this, it’s detached In so many places and technically it’s broken. Crucible sucks, most Exotics suck, most armor sucks and if anything comes along that’s worth using there’s a shite ton of whining and Bunghole ruins said piece of armor... partly due to the cry babies and partly due to the fact it gives us an advantage... like I said... yard sale. I guarantee the majority of the folks that have been here since day one feel the same.
