  • This post was made 5 years ago when Destiny was still new and Halo had more games so show off feats. But as of right now its clear guardians are more superior I don't get how you can call the chief any better of a shot than any Guardian, considering Guardians in game are capable of the same level of pinpoint accuracy as spartans. Infact, the argument of "better shot" is really stupid considering that anyone can have an excellent shot. But can you keep up the consistency when being assailed by an ontological weapon, or fighting a literal inter-dimensional deity? How about while being flung across time? I don't think the chief has ever had to kill a god before, and yet Guardians can do it with a little elbow grease and a backpack full of bullets. Faster? Doubt it. If you're talking reflexes, I once again present you with the fact that Titans are known as extremely lethal in hand to hand combat, besting literal giants by beating their skulls in with anything, up to and including their own heads. If you're talking actual movement speed, a reminder that Guardians are capable of (temporary) flight AND teleportation, and this is without the fact that the ghost can just teleport them wherever they want to go. And please, you want to mention that Spartans are smart? Warlocks are the scholars of the Last City. I'm certain even the smartest spartan would be dumbfounded by an explanation a warlock would give on the way a Vex Gate works, or how exactly Oryx's throne world can exist inside the Dreadnaught. Lol. I present you with literal frickin laser beams. Sleeper Simulant. Fusion Rifles. Omolon weapons. Trace Rifles. Gjallarhorn. Icebreaker. Black Hammer/Spindle. Aside from Forerunner Weaponry, not a single thing in the Covenant, Flood, or UNSC's weaponry could match, let alone surpass the weapons available to Guardians. Guardians have shields as well. I don't get how their shielding is any worse considering they can still tank anything from a sniper bullet to a rocket barrage from a centurion, to the onslaught of sun energy being fired from a Vex (yes, vex weaponry siphons energy from suns). And arguing survivability is pointless considering that even if you COULD kill a Guardian, they'd just respawn, literally. See above. Also see Exotic equipment, and artifacts. Heck even Legendaries. I don't recall MJOLNIR giving me the ability to auto guide my rockets, or allowing me to super charge my melees with arc energy, or allow me to deflect literally any projectile by waving a sword at it. Joe Staten literally says this in a Vidoc about destiny, that the Guardians were designed to make the Chief look obsolete and outclassed. The Guardians are Spartans turned up to 11, without the edgy backstory and requirement of being a hardass. Not to mention the fact that I don't see any Gods, time travelling/manipulating robots, or inter-dimensional spectres on Chief's list of things that he's killed. Take note, the original creators of Halo are stating that Guardians > Spartans. That should mean something. Light dies, Ghost comes back for us. Meanwhile, Cortana almost dies, and decides to turn her back on humanity. Ghost: 1 Cortana: -10. Lame example, but I haven't seen cortana bring chief back from the brink of death by healing him. I don't see Cortana being better than an AI created by a hyper advanced sentient machine that literally dispenses space magic upon people of it's choosing. Infact, Cortana needed forerunner tech to even have a real presence in the galaxy besides the Chief's pet computer/cyber gf. Please continue. I'll take fists of lighting, flaming hammers, and shields made of void energy over armor lock, any day. By the way, stripping guardians of their ability to use their "abilities" is pretty weak. You're handicapping one party to give the other one a better chance, although, Destiny 2 explored that. I didn't need a double jump, grenades, or super, to tear apart four armed space pirates, and I don't think I'd need them to give Chief the hands, considering he struggled in a drunken slugfest with Locke. Abilities or not, Guardians, due to their armor, and weapons, as well as innate fighting prowess, would dominate the Chief, or Spartans.
