It's the Bungie way....
1. Introduce OP weapon.
2. Create hype by showing everyone how broken it is. Thereby boosting player numbers.
3. Wait for everyone to grind for the weapon and catalyst (aka Whisper).
4. Nerf it into the ground as you always intended.
5. ???
6. Profit

Spot on, have an upvote 👍

Yup and due to this, I’m not bothering to waste my time getting the weapon. Bungie never learn.
-
A lot of games do this.

What looter games purposefully introduce quests for OP weapons that they know will need to be nerfed later?
-
ME3 did it with there loot boxes in MP. Introduced broken weapons, didn't fix them till right before the next batch of new content.

True. A game from 2012....by a studio that's now completely F'd because of their terrible practices. Not a good sign....

I haven't played destiny in a long ass time now. Miss the fun of D1. Honestly just miss the era of gaming where developers actually tried.

oh shitttt this was the most accurate description of what bungie does. Sadly most of the kinder garden mutt heads don't understand this and carry on.
