To all the core defenders

  • There's a reason why it's so easy to get a post trending these days. I've had three trend in just the last two days. And before this I've had maybe one trend in the last four years..... People are giving up on the game, giving up on the forums, giving up on redit, giving up. On. Bungie. They have stopped coming to the forums, because they've given up hope of bungie actually listening to them. So all that's left are the most motivated for change, and the "this is fine dog" trolls. The people who are still here, those looking to create trouble, and those motivated for change, those motivated for change are the people who are most committed to seeing bungie survive. The trolls just want to create drama and if it kills Bungie they would actually enjoy it more... Years ago there was something that happened in world of warcraft remembered as the "corrupted blood incident". Most players self quarantined while the developers tried to fix the problem. But then you had the "this is fine dog trolls" of that time who would deliberately go into "cleaned" areas to reinfect them. Over. And over. Because they wanted to create drama. They got off on it. Their usual defense was "if you don't want to get infected, just go somewhere else." Years later the FBI, CDC, and CIA have studied and are still studying these trolls and the event it's self for insights into the mindsets of terrorists who might use viral warfare.... To be very clear. The major intelligence agencies and the Center for Disease Control all consider trolls to have the same mind set and motivations as terrorists. To create suffering and division where ever and when ever possible. And one of the major tactics they use is trying to make the voice of the majority be marginalized into "a vocal minority". My professional advise to you is that you stop trying to talk to them, stop trying to reason with them, and just mute them whenever they bother you with their idiocy. It's kinda like those scam auto dialers your grandparents get. The best cure is not to tell them to stop calling, but rather to just not answer the phone, because once they see you are someone who will respond to their nonsense they will only pester you more. And my professional advise to you trolls is that you seek professional mental help. You're mentally diseased and you need counseling before you hurt someone, assuming you haven't already. Pulling the wings off butterflys and torturing and killing people's cats will only entertain you for so long.

      • #1 It won't effect me negatively at all. #2 If Bungie gives into the vocal minority, they will have to every time. And eventually, it could lead to changing all of our answers to your first question. Let's use other forum topics as examples. "I hate having to play crucible, for certain gun quests. Bungie should just get rid of pvp, all together." Or "Without raid matchmaking, I can't run the raid, so they should dumb the raids down and add matchmaking or just stop wasting time and energy building raids." Or "I only have time to play 1 guardian, so everyone should only have 1. People with more than 1, have an unfair advantage in grinding weekly activities." Or "I only play a Titan, so nerf the Hunters and Warlocks into the ground, because it won't bother me." Over the years, I've actually read posts that have suggested these things to Bungie. And Bungie refused to change their game, even though people on this forum made request posts, and even had people agree with them. It is Bungie's game, for better or worse, they get to make the choice to keep or remove cores. And they have made their choice, and given their reason. It is time for people to accept it, and keep playing. Or move on. And yes if the majority of the player base quits, it will suck for those of us who don't. But why would anyone who quits, care about those who stick with Bungie and the Destiny Universe.

        • There will be no affect because they have NO AFFECT. Leave it alone, they are so easy to get.

        • It’s not going to affect me in any way but cores now don’t have an affect.

How would removing cores from infusion affect the game in a negative way?
LOLz, more whining and crying from the ones who can’t manage their in game currency with EC are most likely the ones who whined and cried when they didnt it have mommy’s credit card to purchase in game silver during the remove Eververse bandwagon. It seems the vocal majority like to whine and cry over what they don’t have, funny thing is, much like reality. Now back to the question, it would keep “irresponsible Joe” from getting to infuse their preferred gear to a higher power level in such game modes like IB, where ones power level has an advantage.

            • You gotta love the "lets argue" posts. It really wouldn't affect me in any way. I dont care what happens to cores. I just want to see Bungie stand their ground because, if I can get my main to 700 with a few different loadouts and still have 110 cores and 56 Finest Matterweave with no exploits, and while still trashing 2/3rds of all my scrapper bounties, anyone can. It's not a core problem, it's either a mismanagement of resources or an "I dont want to do that" problem. Managing resources are skills people need in real life. If they are going to waste a bunch of time in a video game, they might as well be learning something useful.

              • I’m not a ‘core defender’, I think they should be removed from infusion and masterwork costs should increase with the ability to also rework masterworks. However, I think that everyone should just wait until the bounties have been introduced into the game before they continue with their incessant complaining. Bungie are taking action and so let’s this how it affects things and then offer feedback.

                • 1. Won’t effect the slightest bit. 2. People would complain about having to grind for new materials. Example going back to planetary materials. People would complain that they have to grind a certain destination to get material. Same complaints about cores would be said about planetary materials.

Once the pvp try hardest stopped crying about that stupid tonic, the forms would go back to remove cores from infusion posts.

                  • 1) not really. 2) the games economy would have to sky rocket. Prices would be very high. Maybe 25 leg shards and 40 planet mats instead of the 25. If it stayed the same infusion would be useless and spammable. Bungie doesn’t want this. They want you to decide if it’s worth your precious EC to infuse this gear higher. It’s how a lot of mmo type games work. If you’re having trouble stocking up cores lemme give a suggestion that made me go from 2 to 37 in 2 weeks. Don’t spend them on useless upgrades like 1-5 light. There’s practically 0 difference between 650 and 700 unless you’re doing IB, Reckoning, or invading in gambit. It’s so subtle that it’s pointless to do so. Instead of 675 per headshot you’d do 668. And the game caps you at 50 power above your enemies anyway. That’s why you do like 80 damage to public event servitor in the EDZ. Only infuse if absolutely necessary(like from 650 to 685)
