Why do people have to be massive jerks after Crucible?
I've been working on Thorn, yet another exotic hand cannon quest that's forcing me into crucible. I managed to get through the first few steps without issue, but I've hit a wall now that I'm on the void/hand cannon kills portion. This is where everything has completely fallen apart for me. My already dismal crucible rating has plunged so far down the toilet that there's no recovery (my Competitive rank has gone back to 0), I'm terrible at hand cannons so my disadvantage is multiplied, and it seems like I keep getting paired up against teams that are way outside of my league.
I already know I'm in for some pain, but for the love of Shaxx do players really have to send me PSN messages to tell me how bad I am? I'm well aware of it, I'm already frustrated and harassing me like this is not helping.

Did you know you can actually control who sends you messages on psn? I made it so strangers cant send me anything, that way I don’t have to listen to toxic players or in my case get sent a picture of a naked fat lady flashing her disgusting hairy nipples. Yup it happens, so before you get depressed over silly things, always remember there was someone else who is traumatized over something worse, also make sure to not allow random strangers to message you.

Tbagging, emoting...etc. Also if you’re in competitive and doing really bad, then in that case you kinda deserve the hate messages. You’re actively impacting there progress, and that’s something extremely frustrating to deal with. Imagine doing a serious raid run and having one person who just keeps on holding back the team. Naturally people are gonna get pissed. The same applies to players in competitive.

Im pretty bad. But, if I see someone doing worse than me Ill send them, what I intend to be, a helpful message. Like, "get the res next time" or "dont go on your own, lets team shoot". Now, if they get salty Ill unleash a tirade. Fact is, you are working on a quest in comp that does not require comp. If you were good with handcannons then sure, use it in comp. Otherwise, comp is the place for pure sweaty loadouts. That is pretty selfish of you.

Wait till iron banner, unequip a handcannon and equip a void subclass plus any void weapon you are happy with. It will be easier and quicker than trying to use specific weapons.

If you are in comp, you gotta understand that people are grinding to fabled this season and beyond to legend. They are salty each loss but when someone is extremely bad to the point they notice you can be better- they will either lose it or let it go. I understand you "suck" but in my eyes it is redeemable. If you are really trying to only get kills for void- grind out mayhem rn and or qp. If you grind comp stick to 1) Stick with majority of your team. Wherever 2 go you follow. 2) Team shot and do NOT peak if you KNOW you will lose the gun fight. 3) Never hurts to retreat and help team from afar- DO NOT totally ditch em tho. 4) Calm down, and aim at the head.

Not 100% your fault. Start of season when thorn was out i started playing comp to get to fabled solo. There was a clash game we lost by 2 points (65-63). I end up with 43 kills and another guy in my team only had 3! First time a messaged somebody not to insult but only to ask if he was afk or something because i couldnt believe he finished a clash game with only 3 kills. He told me, "i know i suck but i dont give a -blam!- i am only doing thorn quest". I didnt rage because he was right. Its not his fault that bungie releases quests that involve comp game completions and messing up the experience for those who play to win. I even sent him a friend request and we played together some pvp and pve to help him get some loot. So dont blame yourself but on the other hand try to understand how those who play comp to win feel. (That doesnt give them the right to trash talk ofc)

Use Ikelos Hand Cannon, Void + HC kills. Don't go into Competitive! Yes the progress can be quicker, but not if you get 5 kills a game compared to 15-20 in quickplay. Stay back a bit, follow teammates and stay close to them. Try to keep some distance from enemy players, Ikelos has decent range but you don't want to get in close quarters combat with shotgunners. Honestly I hated the last step far more than this one and I hate crucible! But I killed those 3 knights sooo many times and still died. Well, you'll see... Good luck.

Edited by Demon_XXVII: 4/14/2019 12:24:36 AMYou need void kills (around 300) Void handcannon kills (200) get there quicker, but any void kills will do (Last Perdition or Graviton helps) & a void Grenade launcher/Rocket/HMG get in MAYHEM, Subclass Void And spam that Spectral/Nova/Sentinel, throw those grenades & grab all that heavy ammo

1 ReplyBecause if you are tanking it in comp you are probably ruining someone’s win streak and setting them back. They are frustrated that they got the proverbial short straw and are more than likely not mature enough to not rage over a video game.

I did the thorn in IB, matchmaking was good. I just used Malfeasance with a void lock and void energy/power weapons, got it done in a few games. Go spam nova bomb in mayhem 😂

That's just terrible. I get being salty, but them sending you messages about how you suck is plain rude and mean. As for comp, I'm not so great at it either. If it helps, I can offer a bit of advice: break the step into chunks. I shot for 10% progress a day over 10 days. I was also grateful that it wasnt like Last Word, resetting progress on deaths.
